I have made a few rod holders over the years.I have not tried this one yet. I liked it immediately. Seems heavy enough. Sturdy. And weatherproof. I can tell already that I love it. I will make up an adapter so I can easy clamp it to a handrail,dock or boat.

I bought two sets & after using them once had to buy another set. For the price they are perfect. The metal stakes make them very easy to put in the ground & the adjustments for the pole are just right. They also, keep the pole from touching the ground. Good buy!!!

The rod holder looks stable. You can adjust it for whatever you want your rod for. The holder’s body is made of plastic. I just wish they were longer.
