easy to install – helps dampen outside noise
This was the 3rd order of this product, using it to cover outer walls of bedrooms. Some inconsiderate neighbors who like to play music loudly, and police tend to not respond on multiple complaints — even when late at night. These panels were the most reasonably-price of the selections by a considerable margin. The sticky tabs were included, which is not the case with many others. The panels fluffed up nicely without the recommended wet-then-air-dry method as suggested. Also the double-sided glue tabs were not that difficult to peel — once I discovered that you must peel the tab when holding the edge (already glued on one side) at an intense angle and using only your thumb (not the thumbnail) to get the paper to release.Sometimes the squares weren’t exactly square, but the foam panels made the bedrooms look like a music studio. A test for the effectiveness of the dampening effect was the second night after installing in one bedroom; the noise level was much more tolerable.I ordered 3 of the 52-packs previous to this order of 80-count. The unit price drops a lot when you order the larger counts. It’s best if you know the area to cover and order the 80-count from the start. Then you can get one of the smaller-count packs if needed to complete the project. If you want to completely cut out the noise, you should get thicker panels; these are only 1″ and not very dense. If you’re looking for an economical solution to dampen sound (on the inside or from the outside), these seem to be a great solution. I had considered doing this for years and am glad I finally decided to move forward with this solution. Hope you have the same experience.

They Work Just Fine
Before buying these, I read pretty much all of the reviews. Most were positive, but there were some negatives. I bit the bullet and ordered them. They’re up, and here are my thoughts:1. People complained that many of their tiles never expanded. Yes, they come squished tightly together in vacuum sealed bags, and that flattens them rather effectively. However, I immediately dampened my tiles under the faucet, wrung them out, and ran them through the laundry drier. They popped right into shape. No issues. There were some that were more squashed than others, and I set those aside to see what they did on their own. Two or three hours after unpacking, they weren’t quite as thick as the ones I dampened and dried, but still about 90 percent back to their intended thickness. They were fully expanded the next day. Considering the instructions say to give them a day or two, that’s pretty good in my book.2. Others say their tiles smelled weird. Mine didn’t. At all. No smell that I could detect.3. A handful of reviews claim their tiles were cut at wonky angles. Mine were perfect squares. I ordered the 50 pack and all 50 have 90 degree corners.4. More than a few said the double-sided tape for hanging up the tiles didn’t work for them. I have had zero issues so far. I think it depends on (a) how much pressure you use in pressing the tape to the intended surface, and (b) the type and cleanliness of the surface you’re sticking them to. Tape sticks better to some surfaces and not so well to others. In my case, the surface is raw cedar paneling. Also, if there’s any dust or smoke residue on your walls, the tape won’t adhere to it very well. So I’d strongly suggest making sure the surface is clean before trying to stick things to it. And give the tape a good hard press when applying it to the wall. It helps ensure adhesion to both the hanging surface and the tile.5. Some reviewers complained that the tiles don’t block sound. News flash — acoustic paneling isn’t meant to STOP sound. That’s what wall insulation is for. It may help DEADEN sound, but that’s it. I bought mine for a 6×8 recording studio. I have curtains, soft furniture, and a thick area rug to help deaden sound and cut echo, but the cedar panel ceiling was echoing and I had to eliminate that. I started with 25 panels on the ceiling above my recording equipment. That equals two thirds of the ceiling. As soon as they were up, I recorded a minute or two of test audio, and voila — the echo was almost completely eliminated. Not bad, if you ask me. I plan on putting up the rest, but I’m done for now. I’ll update when I have the rest of the setup completed. For my initial impression, I’m giving it 5 stars.UPDATE: 1 week later, here’s my report. The day after installing the tiles, one of the tile had a corner come loose. I pressed it back up and it stayed. No adhesion issues since. I have also tiled the rest of the ceiling and my echo issues seem to be pretty much eliminated. So my 5-star rating remains intact.

Stop Unwanted Noise
Focusound 50 Pack Acoustic Foam Panels: Enhance Your Sound Environment with Quality, Though Adhesive Can Be TrickyFocusound’s 50 Pack Acoustic Foam Panels offer impressive sound absorption capabilities that have noticeably improved the acoustics in my home studio. The panels effectively reduce echoes and reverberations, creating a more professional and pleasant sound environment for recording and listening. The foam panels themselves are high quality and dense, providing excellent noise reduction without being overly thick or cumbersome. They are easy to handle and cut if necessary, allowing for customization to fit specific room dimensions or design preferences. However, while the foam panels themselves are fantastic, the sticky adhesive backing provided with the panels leaves something to be desired. The adhesive is not very strong and can be difficult to apply evenly. Some panels didn’t stick well initially, requiring additional adhesive to secure them properly to the walls.Despite this minor drawback with the adhesive, once properly installed, the Focusound acoustic foam panels have made a significant difference in the sound quality of my studio space. They are a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to improve acoustics without breaking the bank. With a bit of patience and additional adhesive, these panels deliver on their promise of enhancing sound clarity and reducing unwanted noise.

Good quality but poor design
Got several packs of these to put on the walls of my game room and the panels themselves are great. Easily fit together and all the same size, color, etc. The major flaw with these though is that they send you cheap sticky dots to use to place them on the walls. The dots don’t hold well and eventually give out causing the panel to fall. I will be going back through and replacing the dots with something else but in the mean time, I mean they work.

Very happy with the performance of These acoustic panels for the price. Definitely enough to cover a wall or two depending on how dead you want your room to be, and the feeling of noise suppression is appreciable. They stick on easily and I haven’t had any issues with them falling off the wall. This brand is quite impressive and provides a good value proposition for high performance.

These Focusound 4 Pack Bass Traps effectively reduced the bass reverberation coming from my bass guitar amplifier, by placing these stacked on top of one another in the corner of the office, behind the amp. Since installing these, I haven’t heard any more complaints from my neighbor! The adhesive dots included with these Bass Traps are very inadequate, and quickly came detached from the wall and lost their stickiness. I replaced these with some two-sided Gorilla Tape, and this has proven to be much more effective at keeping these attached to the wall.

Recently ordered a few packs of these for a streaming room currently in the works. having experience with tiles and wall panel work the 1st thing that worries me is the vacum packaging causes some size and expansion issues due to heat and please I highly recommend you check each and every piece for irregularities and compressed edges the good news is they are not permanent as from the 150 I received 98 did not properly form or expand due to what most likely is high heat in the vacum seal process. Good news is a dip in a tub with hot hot water instantly and easily solved the issue and now they all are perfectly sized and expanded to prevent shifting on the walls when set up. Will post a video and photos next day or so. This is not sound proofing but great for streaming with better sound. The glue tabs are time consuming to peel and not reliable enough I will be using proper dabs of glue to save time due to 300 sq feet of wall smaller projects tabs may work. Product looks great color 100% match and currently the 20 Sq ft area test has shown zero warping and or gaps having been installed at room temeprature time will tell. Would have given a 5 star but the company is not properly protecting the vacum process thus a 4. Key is take your time be patient let expand and instal carefully you should then be pleased.

iâve had mine set up for about a month now, i havenât had any fallen off the wall, i go to push on one here and there and they feel like theyâve gotten to their full size and squish. the adhesives that come with it are zero issue, i had lots of fun putting them up, might buy more later on!
