Five Stars
Works well and does exactly what I need it to. Not too bright but bright enough to check pupils.

Is this the junk they sell to doctors?
I’m not a doctor, but I am a flashlight nut and this one is just junk with marketing hype. It’s a standard 5mm white LED (a little on the blue side of white, which is common among cheap LEDs), and of course I noticed that it flickers a lot when switched on. I don’t know if it is the bent wire contact at the front end or a poorly-designed switch, but it flickers quite a bit.ADC claims “white illumination for true tissue rendering”. This LED is just a standard 5mm LED (Bayco makes a pocket light with 4 of them for about six bucks), and is “white”, but still tinted blue just a tad. Whatever they think they mean by “true tissue rendering”, I wouldn’t have guessed this. It makes everything (animal, vegetable, or mineral) look sick. Everything looks homogeneous and unclear, which is why LED nuts like me prefer what is called a “neutral white” LED. Neutral white LEDs look like natural sunlight, while the sort of cheap LED used in the ADlite is more like the color of 1980s fluorescent office lights. Again, I don’t know what color light is best for a doctor, but I have used various flashlights to find those microscopic splinters in my skin, and this bluish LED is the worst kind to use. The weak output can’t help either. On top of that, this flashlight is mechanically a piece of junk. The pop-up switch is cool, but the screw-in cap it is mounted on is a flimsy POS. The body may be brass, but the cap is plastic and the threaded portion has a wide slot cut into the side to make room for the spring mechanism. The design is a weak setup, especially with the way you are going to be pressing and sliding the switch. In response to another review, the manufacturer claimed that the flickering might be weak batteries. This flashlight appears to be a direct-drive setup or else a very simple voltage limiter (not much room in the tip for a full regulator), and those kind of flashlights tend to dim continuously as the batteries die. If a flashlight is flickering, it is usually because of one of the following:1. The flashlight has a power regulator circuit and the batteries are just at the edge of the minimum power required.2. There is a weak contact point somewhere (such as a switch mechanism or battery contact).3. Your flashlight has a damaged incandescent bulb.4. You are living in a fictional TV universe in which “dramatic effect” is a variable in all engineering formulas, and the director thinks it would be more dramatic for a flashlight to flicker as the batteries die.I was planning on keeping this flashlight as a novelty, even though I already read the rotten reviews. But it’s actually worse than I thought, including the flickering. I was initially considering the Welch Allyn, but I don’t want to pay for replacement bulbs. If you are a doctor and looking for an alternative to a halogen light, check to see if any of the lower-power 4Sevens models are currently available with a “neutral white” or “high CRI” LED (these are usually limited editions).

Great penlight
I am an emt that’s been through so many penlights because of lack of durability. As soon as this product was taken out of the box I could tell that it was good. It has some weight to it so it doesn’t feel like all the other cheap plastic penlights and works great. I would recommend this product to anyone in the medical field.

Unreliable Pen Light
Currently work as a PA and this light has failed me 75% of the time. First couple of uses were fine, then the light would constant flicker and go out. I would have to shake it to get the light to stay on. It seems there isn’t a tight connection with the battery and the light. I’ve called ADC and requested a new one free of charge, and it does the same thing.

I really like this. If you are a medical personal
Whelp. S***. I really like this. If you are a medical personal, you can buy any penlight with LED. Just don’t shine it directly into someone’s eyes. Easy to use. Easy to clip. Clip is very sturdy.

It sort of broke, but I still like it.
I decided to try the LED version rather than the typical disposable light bulb. It does the job, but it’s a little different. The bulb has a blue hue to it. It is well constructed in that I dropped it, however the ADC logo on the shirt clip has come off (before I dropped it), although it does have a warranty that is included in the packaging it really is not worth sending back and submitting all of the receipts, shipping, etc for the logo. The metal clip is still there. Also I didn’t realize (although it is written in the instructions) that you needed to pull up on the blue tab for the light to go on, so just a quick note to my fellow professionals. It is a little long for the task as well. But I do like it and I am glad I bought it.

adc medical penlight
I’m a doctor and I like it. It looks good and feels good. As other reviewers have mentioned the batteries shake inside but this is not an issue with me. the spotlight is good for my purpose. the quality is really good for the price. ive just started using it and have given it 4 stars since i am wary of other reviewers mentioning issues with the switch which looks sturdy enough for me. if the switch holds up i reward it with 5 stars and say its the best penlight for the price for doctors. please forgive my grammersushil

Works as would be expected and the light is pretty bright. Hope to not was another pen light …
I got this after my… “more expensive” Welch Allen took a tumble in the washing machine. Works as would be expected and the light is pretty bright. Hope to not was another pen light but I’ll know where to buy one if I do!

What I expected like that to turn it on the switch canât get pushed while in your pocket.
