Nice Compact kit for medical school
I’ve only used it once or twice…so time will tell.Pro: Compact, nice case, extra disposable specula, affordable, It appears to be well-made (this must be tested with more use). It doesn’t look cheap like some of the others in the price range. It’s easy to use (switch, etc) and it does not have a funky smell (like some of the Welch Allyn kits my classmates have)Cons: The handle gets hot after a couple minutes of use, but not really an issue. Until I get better at using diagnostic kit…it’s hard to tell if the quality is proportional to the price. My other classmates spent $400+ on their kits and I think for what we’re using it for it’s good enough.Overall: Happy with my purchase. I’m still learning how to use it…Since I will probably be using the kit in the hospital…this is just one to practice with.

great for a cheap set
obviously, if you pay 1/4- 1/5 of the price of a high dollar set, you can’t expect the utmost in quality. it’s just a trade off. i ordered this set as a first year med student and havent regretted it at all. it serves great for OSCE and phys exam learning.my thinking was that i’ll buy this cheap set, since i have zero money, and it will be a great set to have for med mission trips (AA batteries are great when you are in a village w/ no electricity and if it gets snatched- you lost $100 as opposed to 500). plus, i feel like most practices have oto/ophth in exam rooms, so i’m glad i didnt spend money on an expensive set.definitely recommend this set. it is efficient quality (actually better quality than what i was expecting) but obviously not high quality.

A total waste of my money
Pocket ophthalmoscope! Fits in your white coat! Great price! Right? Nope. This thing doesn’t do it’s sole function: help you look at the optic disk. I tried for a while, and eventually gave up because it’s not worth wasting my time trying to get it while in a patient room. If you want one, unfortunately get a larger one.

Great product
The ADC pocket combo is a great set for a student not looking to break the bank. I’ve been able to do everything a person with a $700 Welch-Allyn can do. Now of course there are going to be slight differences between this and a way more expensive product, but if you can get past the petty details this will serve you great for school and examining your family at home when they’re sick. As for any other settings you’re always going to have a wall mounted Welch set ready to be used.

Reasonable alternative to the expensive brands
I canât tell you how many times Iâve dropped and banged these and they still work great! Iâve owned several of these same sets over the years and always pick ADC over the more expensive brands because this is all I need for rounding on patients or carrying in my lab coat for office visits. The price is great so if I lose one In the hospital I donât get too upset over it. This is a great company and they have fixed my otoscope and ophthalmoscope for free more than once. These are lightweight and easy to use, very bright. I highly recommend this for most providers; I wouldnât recommend for an expert opthalmoscopic eye exam but for a generalist like me they do the job pretty well!

Feels like quality
Welch Allyn tips fit this perfectly – I tested it. It’s a sturdy tool that feels like quality and with a convenient battery. The hard case is nice, presentable, and it protects the equipment while in my bag. It comes with a spare lightbulb for each of the scopes which is neat. I don’t feel like I’m getting robbed like I do when I buy Welch Allyn products. The only drawback is the small aperture and field of view but this should be expected with a pocket sized scope.

Not meant for a beginner
Ophthalmoscope was not useful at all.Could nât see anything ,may be due to the technique as the light was very bright and was very uncomfortable for the patient. Not meant for beginner learning to use the equipment.

great value
best of many worlds!if you buy a C battery handle oto/optho – you will not use it because you can’t possibly carry it around in your pockets with everything else.an AA battery handle oto/optho is the way to go! but which one? there are so many! This one is GREAT, just used it for our ENT tutorials today and it works great – also it is a good price! yes – you can get some oto/opthos for less but those aren’t ones that you can carry around so easily. And yes you can pay $700 for a fancy one – but whats the point if you aren’t going to become an ENT!
