Akale Rechargeable Bike Light: A Different Application
These bike lights are economical and very bright. But, I bought them for a completely different application. As an RV’er, I wanted to add nighttime roadside emergency lighting as an added conspicuous alert to my collapsible reflector traffic cones I carry in the vehicle. The handy belt clip on these make it easy to attach to the cones, or me too! Would work on the DOT Warning Triangles also. I tested the white and red lights in direct sunlight, and I feel they are bright enough to help catch an approaching driver’s eye (especially the white ones). After a first recharge, I did a battery life test and they ran a solid 8+ hours, although noticeably dim near the end. That’s good enough for an all night roadside emergency.I should note that I looked of course at most all the various styles of LED road flares first. Wanted the brightest light possible. The popular puck styles project light in all directions when traffic is approaching mostly from the rear. It seemed the overall brightness was reduced because only one LED projects in any direction. So I decided to try the bike lights which projects 4 BRIGHT LEDs in one direction. Secondly, anything that sits low to the ground might not be seen right away depending on the road surface topography. I place these lights about 17″ high on top of the traffic cones aimed at approaching traffic to provide better visibility.

Gets the job done.
I really can’t say anything too negative. It works well. Keeps me visible. Lasts the whole ride. The headlight even brought me home in the dark tonight. To me, it’s just a little bulky. Despite that, I’ll keep using them!

Attention getting!
We have two e-bikes so the set of two pair was perfect: a pair for each. I use the interval double flash and it’s almost impossible to miss seeing them. Battery life is great – provided you remember to turn them off after the ride. They’re easy to mount with the flexible straps; the only unknown is how long those straps will last. We don’t ride after dark, so I’d rather use these than the headlight & taillight light that come on the bikes b/c they take power from the bike’s battery, meaning less range and pedal assist.

Excellent product
These little USB rechargeable LED lights are excellent! I have now purchased a total of 8-pairs of these lights & have been using the first pairs of them for well over a year. I use them on our bicycles, scooters Segways etc.. In lower light conditions they can serve as a good headlight and taillight. On my E-bikes and e-scooters, that already have solid headlights and taillights, we use these little lights on one of their flash modes, which makes our ride A LOT safer by making us more visible to drivers and other cyclists! They are an excellent product at a VERY reasonable price for the value! I would recommend them to others, without reservation!

Product is great but would recommend two improvements: limit to 2 modes and support USB C charging. Otherwise no compliants.
