The Lone Peak 8 is just the versatile and grippy trail shoe you need to do it. We built it with a refined ripstop mesh upper and a MaxTrac outsole for a sticky underfoot grip. Take the trail less traveled with responsive yet comfortable Altra EGO midsole foam. With our roomiest toe box, you’ll have plenty of room for your toes to move freely, with space through the midfoot and zero drop so you can move naturally. With all this grip and connection to the ground, you’ll be sitting (or thru-hiking, exploring, or trail running) pretty. Go big and get out there!

Our Balanced Cushioning platform positions your heel and forefoot at an equal distance from the ground, encouraging better alignment, better form, and a low impact landing.

These canted lugs on the outsole are strategically placed beneath the metatarsals to provide added traction underfoot.

Very happy with this purchase
I have my lone peak 5s from years ago ( but i got them 1/2 size too small because they looked big in width). But they have worn well.So, I took a chance on these lone peak 8s and they did not disappoint. Excellent true fit; I got the womenâs 10. Perfect cushion with some flexibility and the wide toe box. I liked the color blue and the material. I wore them right out of the box on a lengthy day trip to an amusement park and after-rain hike. Canât wait to feel them on a run. They do have improved lugs compared the lone peak 5 which had awful traction. Very happy.

This is a great shoe for plantar fascitis, zero to low heel to toe drop, feels wonderful right out of the box. The toe box is roomy and the shoe snugs up with the laces. I have a thin foot profile, high arches. Hike daily.

Great hiking shoes
I love altras. These are probably my fifth pair . I hike a lot and usually buy a new pair every year . Took these on the rim to rim hike at Grand Canyon, 20+ miles. These were great . So comfy and no blisters.true to size . For hiking always go up a half size .

Best Splay Room Ever
Love, love, love my Altras! No break-in time, comfy from the get go! Great tread for traction, roomy toes box, flexible sole for long distance hiking and comfort. Donât even have to think about my feet when I put these on they are so freeing. They are holding up incredibly well, Iâve already put tons of miles on them other than the dirt they still look new.

Iâm a nurse and work 3-12 hr shifts on a busy Med/Surg/Peds floor. I also have bunions and need a wide toe box. These support my feet and allow plenty of room for my toes to wiggle. At the end of the long day my feet are still happy. I would buy these 100 times over!

Great Shoe
I love the comfort of these wide toe box shoes. I have the dark purple and the dark blue. The description says the blue is black, but itâs not, so when i ordered the black, I did send them back. Great fit!

The wide toe box really makes these shoes extremely comfortable for me. I was able to fix my custom orthotics into them without them feeling too tight. I purchased the “Taupe” colour…doesn’t sound like they’d be cute, but they are!

Le scarpe sono semplicemente perfette. Ci ho fatto il cammino di Santiago ed ero l’unica senza le vesciche. Inoltre soffro dell’alluce valgo e normalmente sento dolore, specie se cammino tanto, invece con queste proprio zero. Vanno usate ovviamente con i calzini giusti, io le ho abbinate con i calzini a cinque dita tecnici.

I love wide toe box shoes which are zero drop but I donât always want them to be barefoot- these shoes have a reasonable amount of sole. This suits me as I want a bit of cushioning when I walk on pavement particularly. These are quite wide (the widest Altra).

took it on a couple hikes so can’t say how will hold up with a lot of usage, but so far it’s like the altras I’ve had before: LOVE THEM. hiking shoes, so the sole is not super soft ‘foamy’ on the foot, it’s sturdier. I also used it a bit in town, still felt good (I prefer to use my running sltra shoes for pavement walks though). So far I found altras to be perfectly roomy toe box, without compromising the sole and other features meant for the specific sport/activity, which you cannot have with a barefoot shoe (which are also cool, but don’t want to wear them always).So toe-shaped, but not barefoot (you won’t feel the ground). best of both worlds
