   This is great if it’s what you are looking for
   I got this with more intention and ambition than it turns out I probably have. This type of hair removal does take some time, and it’s not quite as simple as pointing it at a hairy spot, pushing the button and making it magically disappear! Turns out you need to shave it first, then over a period of weeks and months continuously keep it shaved and keep hitting it with the laser. The laser itself seems well made, the cooling function is pretty amazing actually. I think the instructions, while very detailed, still leave a bit for confusion. For instance I wasn’t really certain what number my skin shade was, and then which direction I was supposed to err on, going with the lighter skin or darker skin setting. The warnings on this also made me nervous. Although I’m glad they are there, I was always a bit scared to use it for fear of having painful burns show up 24 hours later. Nothing like this has ever happened, and I think as long as you follow the directions this is probably a very safe device for most people. In the end I wasn’t able to accomplish much with this, but it may turn out that I am more dedicated later on and will stick with the program long enough to see it work better.

   takes so much time and energy for me to bother with it
   This one is just not one worth the effort for me.It takes so much more time using it than any I have used before.The power is lower than my others so that has to be why this one will take a much longer time to see the results.Also for me it is awkward to actually use it.Feels little like it is top heavy I guess you could say.It is a solid build and really think it will last many years.I will just go back to using my other one that this was taking the place of.

   Really like the cooling feature
   This device makes at home hair removal so easy and quick not to mention the privacy you gain being able to do it yourself in your own home. What I like about this AMIRO Opal IPL Hair Removal Device is the easy-to-use screen that allows you to select the different treatment areas as well as selecting the way you want to treat them. It’s really nice to have the option to click the button for a one-time light application or have a continuous gliding treatment option which makes doing areas like my legs much easier. Per the instructions, I’m only able to use this device once a week for a treatment session so it is a slow process but says we should see results after 12 weeks of use. I’ve worked up to using the device at 50% of its full power and so far, have not experienced any discomfort or pain from treatment. The device has this fantastic cooling ability when you are using it that keeps the skin feeling cold and comfortable through the application. You can hear the fan running while using it but it’s not really very loud overall. I’ve used other similar devices that show me how many flashes are left but this one does not do that. It does say it’s a lifetime device so I would imagine it will last a long time, but the bulb life is not visible on this one. While my feelings about this device are mostly positive, I’ll say something I don’t like is the plug for this thing. The power cord had a heavy power block attached to it and it’s easy to accidentally pull it off the counter. I’m sure it’s needed for proper power but it’s bulky and awkward and I’m not a huge fan of that. The unit itself it awkward to hold because there’s no real hand grip area and the button to push the light is on the top side where you would naturally want to wrap your hand around. It takes a little more conscious effort to find a comfortable hand position to use it, but the lock feature is nice, so you don’t accidentally change the treatment area when you are gripping it while you are trying to do a treatment session. The glasses fold up compactly which is cool for storage, but they could stand to cover more eye area to block out the light and I think they should be darker. This light is bright, and I close my eyes when I push the button but can still see it through my closed eyes plus the glasses. Still, it sure beats having to take time to be at hair removal appointments in an office somewhere with a total stranger.

   Great instructions, forgiving to use, and low on pain
   This is the only home IPL device I’ve used, but so far I’ve been impressed. It does produce some painful “snap” feeling and sensation of heat, especially on sensitive skin, but the built-in cooling really seems to help.The most important note I have is to be very careful to wear the right protective eyewear (a pair is included with this unit). I can often notice a flash, even with the protective glasses on and my eyes closed. It seems to be coming from the vent on the side of the unit, because when I cover it with my hand the flash goes away. It’s barely visible with the glasses on, but it’s enough light leakage that I’m worried about its ability to damage eyes without the protective eyewear.Apart from that, this product is really nice to use. The finishes are beautiful, the interface is intuitive, and the instructions are excellent. I’m very impressed with the instructions for their clarity and completeness. They actually explain what all the symbols mean, what all the controls do, and when the unit will and won’t do certain things. Most instructions seem to be made with the minimum of explanation and usually leave a few things out; that’s not the case here. If you have no idea what you’re looking at with this thing, the instructions do an uncommonly good job of explaining everything. Absolutely excellent packaging and design in every part of the unit except the folding protective glasses – those feel and look a bit cheap, although they get the job done just fine.Overall, I really like this unit, and it seems to be great value for the price.

   Not for me
   The hair removal device is quite easy to use and has a nice design. To be honest, permanent hair removal takes a long time and requires patience. And I don’t mean days. We’re talking months here. I went back to the old school method and used a simple razor. That’s enough for me and it’s quick. In the end, it was a great experience and the hair became a little thinner after many uses of this removal tool.
