Slow and steady
This held up great on my last motorcycle journey. I strapped it against my pack and case and routed the charge cable to a power bank. By the time I was done with my ride for the day my power bank was charged up for me to use for my helmet and phone. The metal grommets held up much better than expected and the cutouts between panels gave me options for areas to run straps through.

It fits in the backpack back pocket
I really like that it it fits stored in the hidden back pocket that some military style backpacks have

Awesome solar charger
Anker always seems to make really quality affordable electronics. This quick charges my phone very well, and is great for camping or backpacking if you run the solar panel on the back of a backpack and the sun’s at your back. Pretty ingenuous product.

20-25% efficiency
Do not expect to get anywhere near the rated 30W output from this solar panel but you can expect to get around 10-11W with direct sunlight. Quality seems pretty good and they fold up nicely – going on an extended camp trip soon and will report back soon after some consistent field usage in Arizona.

No cables for the solix.
Well the solix solar panel does not come with a cable for the solix power bank. Nor does the power bank. Not a very good system. Been reading the reviews and i hope it is not as bad as they say. Will update if i can even find a cable to charge the power bank.Update: Could not find a charge cable that fits the anker DC port. Also, it only slow charged my phone so this panel does not provide the output it says.

It does things, just not what I bought it to do
First off, let me just say that this thing works well enough. I can get it to charge a phone or tablet but both devices insist I get a better power source and charge extremely slowly. God forbid you need to use the device while charging, it will not charge.I purchased this as my intro to solar, since I have zero experience with anything solar powered. My plan was to use it to charge my Anker 548 power bank while I’m at work and then use the battery bank to recharge my vape batteries, tablet, phone and earbuds when I get home. An experiment to see if I can keep my personal devices charged for “free” but it won’t work. The bank goes into some circuit protection mode, I’m assuming the input voltage is too low, and tells me to stop using so I unplug the solar. I got the solar capacity to 8 watts once and the bank said it would charge up (56% to full) in 36 hours. Anything less than full blaring sunlight gave it less than 5 watts and that listed 97 hours to charge or just went into circuit protection mode and didn’t do anything. In my uneducated solar opinion, this thing will work if you want something small to shove in your backpack for an emergency out in the wilderness. If you do not have line of sight to unobstructed bright sunlight, this will do nothing. If you’re in an open field but have partial cloud cover, it will likely do nothing. If you’re in an open field with bright sunlight under completely cloudless skies, you might or might not be able to recharge a smartphone with this panel but I imagine you’d have to sit still for a long time.I am not sending it back but, all in all, I find this panel to be useless. I gave it three stars because it technically works and it really does fold up nice and small, slightly smaller than a high school spiral notebook. If you’re looking for a fast charge or to recharge something of substantial size, I don’t believe this is the right panel for us. That’s my two cents worth.

I bought this for camping. It does a great job keeping my plug in equipment charged. It charges my phone quite well even without 100% sun.I think everyone should have one of these.

Merci Anker.

I got this not knowing where I might use? To test I put it out on balcony and tried charging my phone, in low light, cloudy day it did the job! Charged a few other things, then adapted it to trickle charge my RV battery for the winter. So far so good! I now wish they would supply more adaptors for many 12 volt products? I’ll be taking it on a vacation to see all that it can do, as it is so portable.
