WARNING: causing too much of a voltage drop or using insufficient wiring can cause equipment malfunction or even fire SO BE CAREFUL. Consult an electrician if you’re insure of what you’re doing.Given the total cord length and the wire gauge for both cables,, this was just what I needed to power the AC in my wifes office. it kept her cool all summer. would recommend if you know what you’re doing.

This is a well made extention cord for use with window air conditioners, as well as other appliances that draw less than 15 amps.This cord is rated at 15 amps, so it’s recommended for use on AC units that are no more than about 18,000 BTUs.I use it in my small office in my work shop, and the AC unit there is only 5000 BTUs, so it serves its purpose well with no worries of overloading.It’s also great for use with shop tools such as a drill press, grinder, or a drill.Very versatile, and will last many years.

I recently purchased the BN-LINK 3ft Air Conditioner Extension Cord 14/3, and I am quite pleased with its performance for medium power appliances. Here are my thoughts:Length and Flexibility: The 3-foot length is perfect for short-distance connections, making it ideal for indoor use where you donât need a long cord. Itâs compact and easy to store, which is a big plus. Out of the package, the cord is stiff and will take a little time to straighten out.Durability: The 14-gauge wire is robust and can handle medium-wattage appliances without any issues. Iâve used it on several occasions with my air fryer. To keep the house cool in the summer, I use the air fryer on the back deck. Unfortunately, the fryer came with a short cord, hence the need for this extension cord. In multiple uses, I found that the extension cord worked well but became warm to the touch.Safety: This extension cord feels very safe to use. The insulation is thick and seems to be of high quality, reducing the risk of overheating. I appreciate that it meets safety standards, giving me peace of mind when using it with various tools and appliances.Overall Performance: Overall, this extension cord is a reliable and sturdy option for anyone needing a short, medium-duty extension cord. Itâs well-made, and I havenât encountered any problems with it so far. However, I would not use it for a large window air conditioner. I would recommend at least a 12-gauge, if not a 10-gauge wire for such appliances.

A Reliable Cable I Trust
I have been using this extension cable for about 2 months on my portable A/C and I have not noticed any issues with it. I chose this extension cord over the other ones because it reminded me of the power cables that come pre-attached to the appliances I already owned and so far the extension cord does not get warm to the touch, or cause my A/C to act odd as if power is being restricted. Since my A/C uses about 300 to 600 watts of electricity, I wanted an extension cord that was better suited for the task over your standard power cord and so far this cable has not disappointed. It looks and feels very well made with a thick yet flexible protective jacket over the conductor wires. I also like the 90 degree wall plug that allows this cable to be flush with the wall and resist impact damage.If I ever find myself in need of another extension cable for an appliance, this is the one Iâll be getting.
