Great machine!
After a few years of pour-over coffee and extensive overthinking, I decided to purchase this coffee machine. There were a few things I deemed important in my coffeemaker search. First, I wanted to be able to schedule my coffee to brew just before I wake up and zombie-shuffle into my kitchen. Second, I wanted a machine that could make more than 6-8 liquid cups. When family visits, the pour over carafe capacity is never enough so weâre constantly making third or fourth carafes of coffee daily. That gets time consuming and very annoying. Third, it was important to still have great flavor. Pour over and has a great taste and I did not want to lose that. Finally, I wanted the coffee to stay hot. My glass pour-over carafe cooled too quickly and Iâd have one mug of hot coffee before I had to begin microwaving, which doesnât keep coffee hot for very long, either.I decided to buy this coffeemaker after reading reviews on several machines at a few different online stores. I chose this Braun after reading many pretty good reviews. The price was doable and I really liked the aesthetic I saw in the pictures.I got the machine yesterday and set it up. It came with a charcoal water filter (lasts a year) and a cone shaped, reusable mesh coffee filter. The charcoal filter is not necessary to the operation of the machine but ITâS A FILTER, people. Although I already have a water filter attached to my kitchen faucet, the charcoal filter comes with the machine, so Iâm using it. There are specific instructions on how to activate the filtering properties of the charcoal pod so be sure to read those in the manual before inserting it into the machine. The reusable mesh basket looks very nice but I havenât tried it because I have several paper filters (cone, size #4 fits perfectly) and I like the flavor of the coffee when I use them. When I run out, Iâll likely switch to the reusable filter. When I set up the machine yesterday, I ran the machine through once with only water, as recommended by the manufacturer, to remove dust that may have settled into the machine. I timed this cycle for funsies (on the âregularâ brew setting) and it took a little under 10 minutes to fill the carafe. I have not tried the bold or fast brew settings yet. After this initial cleaning cycle, I washed the pot and mesh filter.Setting the time, water hardness level, and the auto-brew function was easy with the manual, but you do have to push the power button before you can activate certain features. I feel it is pretty important to read the instruction manual. Side note- after I set the clock, I unplugged the machine while I poured water into the water tank (because I donât want to get electrocuted, plus the manual says to do this). I did not have to set the clock again after I plugged it back in. That was a neat little function.Last night, I set the auto-brew function to make coffee at 8:30 am this morning. It worked great, the coffee stayed hot, and it tasted awesome! And if you, like me, slowly go through a pot of coffee throughout the morning and early afternoon you can turn the warming plate on again. Press the power button, then the âbrewâ button and it will keep the plate hot for another 2 hours. All in all, I have no complaints so far and Iâm very happy with this purchase.

Staying with Braun
We have an older model at the house in the states which still brews a great pot of coffee. After going through the brands available here, I purchased this newer model from Amazon and shipped internationally. Not impressed with the lack of packing, but it did arrive in one piece. Super easy to use, great filtration, fast brewing, good drip coffee. Staying with Braun.

Boss Hogg of coffee makers.
This is a large coffee maker so check specs carefully before ordering. It has touch controls which means you do not press anything. This maker brews about a cup a minute and has 3 different modes, fast, regular and bold. It has pause and serve which means it will not drip on the warming plate if it hasnât quite finished brewing when reaching for your first cup.It can also be programmed for brewing at a certain time. This maker also has a freshness indicator which appears to be time based. I find the taste is fine once the brewing is complete but breaks down fairly quickly because the temperature of the warming plate. Coffee is made to be consumed and the quicker it is consumed, the better. Iâve had this maker less than 30 days.

Coffee is important to me.
I had an older Braun 14 cup coffee maker that had a part break â and I couldn’t find a replacement. As I was looking for a new coffee maker, I kept coming back to Braun because I’ve been using Braun (or Krupp) coffee machines for close to 30 years and they’ve always made great coffee and have always performed well (unless, of course something breaks). My coffee set up has become optimized over the years to make certain that I’m getting the best possible brew every day. Ibuy whole beans and store them in an Airscape canister ensuring that, even after I open the bag, they are protected from the negative effects of light and air on their freshness. I brew a precise measurement of those beans in a programmable conical steel burr grinder set to the proper grind (for big and bold) autodrip and measure fresh water precisely. I also use unbleached paper filters rather than the gold filters because I’ve found that they affect the flavor of my coffee the least. In other words, I’m not messing around. This new machine is attractive, and brews a spectacular cup of coffee (or, rather, my daily three large mugs). I don’t use the timed brewing settings because I don’t always need coffee at the same time every day. I’m able to feed the dog, set up the coffee, press brew (at the “Bold” setting) and have it fresh and ready after The Dachshund and I return from his stroll. Thanks you Braun for continuing great mornings!

Going back to Cuisinart
This coffee maker fell short in several ways. When it needed a cleaning (light came on) it would not allow a brew cycle. First thing in the morning before work wasn’t the ideal time for a clean cycle! Later when the electronic button panel got wet (forgot the lid to the coffee pot one morning and the basket started to overflow with water) the unit stopped working. Unfortunately, the coffee maker lasted only 9 months.

Consistent Coffee
Love this coffee maker. Can be a little slow on strong brew, but worth the wait. Hot water temp make excellent coffee. The machine is Very consistent with the strength of the coffee. Simple and easy to use. If needed can brew a fast batch when you are in a hurry

I kep coming back
If you drink bold coffee and black this is the only coffee maker that should be in your home. It has a flaw. It has not been corrected on the model. The warming tray gets very holt and eventlally the coating will peel off in sections. It can get dangerous and break the carafe. I love the way it makes coffee and this is the 3rd one in 7/8 years. I purchase a new one every 3 years. German engineering! The customer service department is NO Customer Service so don’t try to return under warranty as that ain’t gonna happen with a fight and weeks of stress. Enter at your own risk.

I’m not a big fan of coffee maker coffee. Over the last 2 decades, I’ve alternated between pour over coffee set ups (Hario and Chemex), Brazilan press coffee (Bodum) and stove top espresso, for my daily coffee routine. However, due to the nature of my last job, I invested in a an automatic drip coffee maker. After extensive research, that almost had me buying a Bonavita or the more expensive Moccamaster, I settled on this model for a number of reasons. I am glad I did. This is an excellent machine that produces an excellent, robust coffee. The machine is easy to clean and is also easy to program for automatic coffee preparation at a desired time in the day. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the glass carafe, but I’ve learned to accept it. For those that don’t mind having their coffee cook in a glass carafe on heated base, this machine will do the trick. I personally don’t like the taste of the coffee after it’s been heated for a while, so I chose to empty the contents immediately in an insulated container.Oh, and it’s quite easy to make less than full batches as well as to adjust the coffee strength.Excellent machine and great value!

Worked great for about 5 years. Purchased it in December 2018 and it stopped working in May 2024. Did not last as long as you would expect a Braun product to last. At the time I paid $159 dollars for it. However the years that we used it, it worked great and always brewed a great cup of coffee. Was very disappointed when it stopped working and replaced it with another Braun product. Hopefully this unit will last longer.

We had a old Braun that we had for over 30 years before it cratered so we went with the same brand. The current ratings for this unit were also quite good. It does what it’s supposed to – make coffee. Pretty easy to use except for 2 things – like a lot of peple have commented, pouring water in can be a bit tricky and the total height with the lid up prevent it from being kept under an upper cabinet. Neither are deal breakers but I took off a star for the pouring issue. I like that it is a 12 cup and the quality of the coffee suits me. A note – on fast brew the coffee will be noticeably weaker. I’m not in that big of a hurry.

Defective touchscreen right out of the box. Amazon replaced with another unit, same problem. Could not set the clock or anything else for that matter since the panel was completely non responsive. As others have complained, the touchscreen looks nice but is pretty unreliable and malfunctions easily. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the fact that Amazon shipped the coffee maker in its original box i.e. without a shipping box and protection. Eitherway, ended up replacing with the physical button model. Works nicely.
