For my birthday, decided to upgrade my old irons. After some research I decided on these CW Mavriks. Was not really keen on spending north of 1K on irons (I’m not that good) so I pulled the trigger. Two things I should mention, one is that they are light and the lofts are slightly lower than standard so that takes some getting use to. However, they are so far anyway a nice upgrade, forgiving and pretty long hitting. Great value for a premium brand.

I am about as fickle as they come with golf equipment. I can NEVER find irons that respond the way I think they should. Some irons Iâve tried feel way too âhardâ or firm when striking the ball and causes too low trajectory and uncontrollable shots, while others feel way too âsoftâ and shots inevitably come up short.These Callaway Mavericks are situated perfectly between those two poles. The ball easily goes 10-20% farther than my current irons (Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal) and with a nice high trajectory and soft landing. Honestly, Iâve never had a better set of irons. Iâve lowered my index from a 15.9 to an 8.8 and am going lower. Very pleased!

I bought the graphite version. It gives me more yardage on each shot but i am not sure a out the durability of the clubs. I would return the set if the time didn’t pass.
