helps fine noises in cars
I got these to find a rattle in my engine bay and was able to tell that it was the water pump pulley going bad. The longer probe was great for that. The price is great but my oil issue si that the ear tips are not comfortable.

For water leaks also
These are designed to be used with automobiles. I used it to help locate a water leak. The noise from the water running through the pipe is amplified a lot. It worked pretty good to determine which pipe had water flowing through it. Can put it on the wall too to listen. I had a small leak under the slab. My son heard it. I’m deaf so I can only hear big leaks! It’s worth a try, doesn’t cost much, but might not have to call a plumber if you can fix it yourself.

Pinpoint those squeaks, rattles, pops, and other nagging sounds
For a looong time, I have suffered through all manner of annoying sounds in my vehicles and from my appliances and other gear. As cool as a medical stethoscope is, I need something that can touch hot surfaces, specifically my car engine. So, I made this item mine.I like the tool’s simplicity. It’s no frills and no nonsense yet offers good quality construction. I like the ability to add another piece of probe to the scope for hard-to-reach areas. However, I wish the company had included a retaining clip, as the probe extension will most likely disappear into the bowl of my toolbox.Don’t look for instructions — there are none. But that’s okay because there’s nothing to learn. Put them in your ears, add the extension probe if needed, and poke around until you find the noise’s source. If you are like me and want to diagnose and resolve sounds you shouldn’t be hearing rather than cranking the radio, add this excellent little tool to your toolkit.

Great quality stethoscope!
This stethoscope fits well on my ears without being uncomfortable and offers a good deal to focus on sound coming from the area you are proving. The tubing is a little shorter than I would prefer but it is usable. The extension rod helps giving a little more length to save your back from being hunched over. The materials and build feels quite sturdy and durable to last many uses. Decent price for the quality.

didn’t work great for me trying to detect air vacuum leak locations
Seems to work fine, but I couldn’t find the source of the air leaks in my vacuum infusion setup, I think it works better for louder noise.

The most important tool youâll ever have
This tool isnât new or high-tech, but it is the most important tool to use before you tear into something. Start by poking around with this in your machinery even before you suspect a problem so you will know how things should sound when theyâre healthy and then when something doesnât seem right, you can find exactly where that sound originates before you start tearing it down. Remember once you start tearing it apart and donât see the problem, itâs too late to use the stethoscope. Grab this tool before any others.

Gets the job done
This is better than a long extension or cut off wooden broom handle. These are made rather cheap, but they also aren’t meant for long term daily use. They did help me troubleshoot a odd noise in my engine and even if it just hang on the wall from now on, they have saved me more money then they cost.
