Edit to my edit: I contacted Amazon about the spread shrinking & they were awesome! They sent me a new spread along with a shipping label to ship the original spread back, free of charge. I received the new spread before they received the one I returned. I couldnât have asked for more. At least now I know to line dry it the next time it needs to be washed. Iâm thrilled with this spread & more thrilled with Amazonâs customer service.Edit: When I wrote this review I had just gotten it & hadnât washed it yet. I had to wash it this morning because my grandson got chocolate on it & did exactly as the instructions stated. It shrunk so much that Iâm not sure it would fit a queen bed now. Iâm not sure what to do because I spent so much money on the shams, regular & euro, as well as decorative pillows that I hate to buy a new spread & start over. Or do I buy this again & when I wash it hang it to dry. This spread is kind of colonial looking, not the look I was going for. But, I positively love it & donât want to return. Iâll find a way to decorate my room so it doesnât look quite so colonial. Itâs just so pretty especially with the shams & decorative pillow. None of those things come with it. I purchased them all separately. Itâs well made & very heavy. I take my spread off every night because of 2 little dogs who think the bed is theirs & they just let us sleep with them. But, if you can leave your spread on, it will definitely keep you warm. You may only need 1 additional blanket in the winter. The only thing Iâm not too crazy about is even though itâs a king itâs not long enough on the sides. I could use a bed skirt, but honestly I hate them. Iâll live with being able to see under the bed. I added a picture so you can see for yourself. I just bought it & havenât washed it yet. If I have an issue, Iâll edit my review. I gave it one star for light weight because itâs most definitely not light.

UPDATE : Perfect Weight
UPDATE: I still love this spread HOWEVER it does shrink a lot when washing. I purchase the oversized queen for my full bed and the fit was perfect with the bedspread just touching the floor. Now after washing it has shrunk so much it is 2″ off the floor on both sides and foot (if I want enough to cover pillows with spread). So I would recommend that you have it DRY CLEANED ONLY.This is a very nice quality matelasse bedspread. It is the same weight as my current coverlets which add some warmth without a lot of weight. When it is coolish I will only use the bedspread with a top sheet. When winter comes in Minnesota I will use the matelasse coverlet under the bedspread (in between the top sheet and the bedspread). Now I will say that I do tend to be very warm a lot of the time – so some folks who get cold easier might need a warmer blanket under the bedspread.The ‘inside’ of the bedspread is fairly smooth but IMO would be more comfortable with a top sheet.And the size is perfect – I purchased the oversized Queen for my full bed as I no longer want to deal with the inconvenience of a bed skirt and keeping it clean. The drop from the top of my mattress to the floor is 25.5″ and this spread touches the floor on 3 side and plenty of length to cover 4 pillows easily.I am extremely happy with this purchase and have recommended to some friends already who were looking for something like this. I have not washed it as yet but if something is not good after that I will come back and update my review with details.

beautiful bedspread
I purchased the ivory queen spread and it is lovely. the design is subtle. the length is wonderful a bonus as most bedspreads and coverlets are square! this one actually is one to fit the bed properly. the weight is not heavy at all. I love that it is all cotton and will breath. It will be on my bed for many years!

Lightly Warm Coverlet
This is a lightly warm coverlet good for summer in the air conditioning. You may or may not find that you need an additional layer. We use a cotten blanket under it. It is a very pretty clean white, and the design is pretty, too. It was washed before putting it on my bed, and it is durable.

Pillow sham
I received the sham within a few days so it was a very quick delivery. The sham has some quality weight to it and it is beautiful. It is well constructed and appears it will last for years. Extremely happy I ordered this. Very expensive looking for the price I paid for it.
