Works amazing for backyard kid sleepovers!!
We are a three person family (myself, the wife and a 9yr old son). This tent is a perfect size for a camping trip to sleep the whole family comfortably. We can set up the air mattress along with all of our extra stuff inside the tent and still comfortably move around inside. I am 5’9″ and can stand erect without having to hunch while getting dressed inside the tent. I love the screened in “porch” area of the tent that is big enough to put a couple of camping chairs to sit and enjoy without being pestered by bugs constantly. However, where this tent really shined was when we had a sleepover of 4 other boys for my son’s party and they all stayed out in the backyard in the tent with a small TV and a Playstation. They all had plenty of room and said they slept great (once they finally went to sleep). Set up takes me about 20 to 30 min from start to finish. Putting everything away back into the bag requires making sure that you fold everything just right and helps to have a second person to hold stuff while you compress it all into the bag again. I would suggest getting some aftermarket screw in style tent stakes though just to keep this guy on the ground in the case of a windy day as it is pretty light weight and I could easily see it blowing away if it’s not secured down really well.

Basic but Waterproof Family Tent
Unfortunately the weather did not play nice with our first camping trip for the Evanston so photos were not a top priority.Compared to my other 6+ person tents the Evanston falls in the middle for size and weight when packed, however it does not include a ground sheet. The tent is simple to set up but the size of it makes it best for a two man job, however I was able to set it up by myself in about 15 minutes.Take down is also straight forward although it was raining so I did not attempt to pack up into the carrying case however the case itself can be expanded and there is ample space for the tent and poles. The best part of the tent is that it proved to be water tight over the course of two nights camping in relatively consistent rain. The worst part by design is a lack of a vestibule or covered area to get in and out of the tent in the rain. We had a towel on the floor for getting in and out. Weâre a family of 5 plus 2 dogs so we divide and conquer with tents. The Evanston fit an adult, two kids, and a dog along with all of our gear just fine.Overall this is a no frills, basic tent that provides excellent protection from the elements (the most important thing for a tent!) while providing decent room inside of the tent for the size and weight when packed.

Roomy tent with good ventilation
The Coleman Evanston Tent is like the Airbnb of tentsâcomplete with a screened âporchâ that feels fancy until you remember itâs just bug-proof mesh. This porch area is a game-changer, though! Big enough for a couple of camping chairs, itâs the perfect spot to sip your coffee, enjoy the view, and laugh at the mosquitoes banging against the screen like they forgot their keys. This tent is roomyâlike, âbring the whole crew and their gearâ roomy. Sure, itâs a bit heavier than some ultralight options, but thatâs the price you pay for sturdy poles, reliable stakes, and a rainfly that keeps everyone dry. The zippers? Smooth as butterâno annoying snagging while youâre fumbling to get inside after dark.Set it up in about 15 minutes, and youâve got yourself a weatherproof, family-friendly fortress. Whether itâs for camping, glamping, or hosting the sleepover of the century, this tent delivers comfort and durability in one big, happy package. Just donât forget the snacksâtent life makes everyone hungry.

Coleman brand for its reputation!
This tent is such leaps and bounds beyond my old outdated tent from when I was a kid. Both in weight and materials! It has more than enough room for my entire 3 person family, but my wife shuns camping if air conditioning and cabins aren’t involved. So that means it’s an insane amount for my little girl and I. The screened on porch is a huge perk for my little girl as she is both uber tasty and uber sensitive to mosquito bites!I often like the minimalism of tarp tent camping, but I’m happy to have this tent when it’s needed. I already had lag screw type of anchors that make this bad boy rock solid

Bit thin but…….
Its a bit on the thin side in certain areas id prefer thicker, so i am not sure yet on longivity yet, but so far the coleman name has held true to its reputation. Quality seamwork, sturdy poles, easy setup and take down. I cant yet attest to the waterproofing as it didnt rain the one time ive gotten to bust this one out camping. But if there are any issues when that time does arrive i will update. I do feel it is a little on the pricey side though. And for that i docked one star. At this point however id still recommend.

Nice tent!
I trust the Coleman brand and the quality and construction of this tent does not disappoint. I set this up myself in my backyard in about 30 minutes, so with 2 people it should take half that time. Instructions are pretty straightforward and conveniently sewn onto the carry case. I’m 5’7″ and could stand up straight inside. The screen room is a fun feature! This should fit 4 adults comfortably, maybe 6-8 kids.
