These are awesome, but buy one — or even TWO — sizes SMALLER
I probably have about 15-20 of these Columbia Men’s Tamiami shirts in both long sleeve (like this one I’m reviewing) and short sleeves. They are mostly all in a size Small. A couple of them are in Medium, and this Red one that I just bought is in Extra Small (first time I buy this size, just to try it out). My chest is about 36″ – 37″.So here’s a summary:- Long or Short sleeve — it doesn’t matter for the Columbia Men’s shirts: THEY ALL FIT BIG- I’ve bought a couple of their Medium sizes in both long and short sleeve, and I feel like I’m wearing an oversized trash bag or like a could fly away as if I were a kite. The Mediums are HUGE (they’re not even “Large”, but they seem to be extra large), even though that is what I wear in Tommy Bahama, Izod, Merrell, Chaps, Dockers, etc.- The “perfect” size for me in the Columbia brand is probably a size Small, even though I almost always wear a Medium in any other brand; however…- This Extra Small fits well too. I only prefer the size small (even though I’m a Medium in every other brand) because I prefer the slightly looser fit for these in the hot summers of Arizona.SUMMARY: Buy one size small. These are excellently-built shirts in either short or long sleeves. They are great for sitting out in the sun because of their SPF. They have tons of pockets and little attachment points, which I love. They wick the sweat away great while still remaining comfortable. Definitely a buy!

I use it for doing field work here in Hawaii and in Guam where the sun is hot and the humidity is really high. The shirt is more comfortable than anything else while looking good doing my work. The back vents work great and often use the buttoned roll-up sleeve feature. Like a fishing shirt, the convenient pockets hold my pens and other tools. I like it so much, I now have 4 of these shirts. One thing to realize is that the shirts run pretty big, so you might want to consider buying one size smaller.

This shirt was awesome until it was stolen
I wore this shirt for like five days on a Caribbean island near Venezuela. The shirt was awesome and breezy and it did everything a shirt can do to keep me comfortable. I wore it all day the whole time. It developed a funky odor which occurs with polyester. However, I had taken it off to snorkel out to some coral reefs and hung it up on a bush. When I got back it was gone. That is how awesome this shirt is that someone will steal it like it’s a pair of Jordans.

This UPF shirt is very comfortable, buttery soft and true to size. I bring it to the beach when I feel like I may be out in the sun for an extended period of time. Iâm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I have a similar UPF shirt from a different brand that I feel is more breathable in very hot temperatures.
