Love these socks!
These are the only socks my husband will wear! He raves about how comfortable and durable they are! This lightweight pair is perfect when he does his bike rides. Unlike other socks my husband has worn, Darn Tough socks never get holes in them. These socks are worth every penny – they last for years and years!

DURABLE! + Stink-resistant + Sweat wicking = we have a winner
Bought my first pair of Darn Tough wool socks just over 3 years ago, and many since; now looking for more and decided to leave a review: My oldest pair — this ultralight version — are still going strong 3 years later! That’s 3 years of every-day wear combined with hundreds of miles of pavement pounding runs, alternated with a few other socks that didn’t hold up nearly as well in less time. Naturally, the bottom of the sock is starting to look a little threadbare in one hotspot, but that’s it; in every other respect the sock has held up great: color, thickness, shape, elasticity, pilling, etc. WOOL socks done right. I’ll never go back as long as the quality remains. It’s also great not having to wash ’em for WEEKS at a time because they just… won’t… STINK (much).

One Sock To Rule Them All
So, I’m not one to get excited by socks. But these things are fantastic. The first couple pairs I got for hot weather when I’m outside often. They quickly became my go-to socks for everyday use so I got a few more pair. These socks really are tough, its incredible. My cycling specific socks barely last one season so I started using these. Darn Tough have outlasted my hiking socks. So not I use these. I predict that these socks will easily take over my entire sock drawer simply to to attrition! They outlast every other brand of socks I have. Interestingly, I have a difficult time telling my old Darn Tough socks from the new ones. Crazy. Now I understand the lifetime warranty. It probably never gets used. Longevity, however, is only one benefit of these bad boys. They wick very well. Never any hot spots. Very comfortable, and they don’t slip or slide. Ive used these as a base layer under heavier socks for snow skiing, cycling, mountain biking, backpacking/hiking, running, and everyday use. I can’t say enough great things about these socks.

Darn Tough Socks are Pretty Good
This is my first pair of Darn Tough socks. I read the reviews and was looking for a pair of running socks to wear during winter trail runs. Feet get wet and cold after a bit and figured the wool would help keep my feet warm even if the socks got a little wet. Well, these work, sort of. They’re fairly thin, which is fine, because I will be wearing them sometimes in warmer weather, too. But they don’t really help much keeping my feet warm. Maybe on shorter runs of 30 minutes, but when I’m out for an hour or so in temps below 35, my feet are cold, like with normal running socks. One day last week it was about 30, so I wore a very thin pair of nylon socks against my skin and these over top of them. Fit was a bit tight but loosened up after a couple miles. My feet stayed pretty warm that day, even after getting damp. So I learned a new trick that works. They do lack cushioning, which I kind of figured because they weren’t advertised as a cushioning sock, but these aren’t going to help cushion your feet at all on a longer run of 10+ miles. They do fit very well and are comfortable on my feet. They didn’t slide down into my shoes or bunch up and squeeze the forefoot during any trail runs. And over some hilly, rough single track there was no rubbing of seams (I don’t even think they have any seams, which is really nice) or blistering. As to durability they appear well-constructed with quality material, no loose threads, etc… And I know that wet wool never smells nice, but these smell really bad after getting damp. They even smell bad when they’re dry. I was in the Army so I’m no stranger to the normal smells of wet/damp wool socks and clothing, but these have a particularly strong odor. Sort of an oily and chemically smell. But they’re mostly made of wool so the wet-wool smell should be anticipated. Can’t say how long they’ll last but right now, they’re pretty good running socks. My personal opinion is that Balega socks feel more comfortable on the feet, a little less expensive, and last pretty long, too. But if these Darn Tough socks really do last for years and years, then they are worth the price.UPDATE 12/26/13: After a few washes, the harsh wet-wool smell goes away. Until you sweat them up again, of course. Good socks.Update 1/25/15: These are now some of the best socks I’ve ever had. Extremely durable, don’t smell – even after long, sweaty runs, and are still very good fitting and very comfortable. If the material was a bit softer on the skin they’d be five stars. Regardless, for running, I’m buying more.

They held up beautifully. It took about a good 15 minutes of …
I had some time to thoroughly test out these socks. I have 3 pairs of these, and used each one to go hiking. I went on a total of 6 hikes, each roughly 4-6 miles in various woody terrain. A majority of these hikes were in damp and humid conditions. I wore these with a pair of Saucony Peregrine 6s. These hikes required me to cross streams and creeks, causing me to submerge my feet into the water, soaking both my shoes and my socks. How did they hold up to these hikes? They held up beautifully. It took about a good 15 minutes of hiking for the shoes and the socks to dry up after crossing streams and creeks. Although they were never completely dry until the end of my hike, they were dry enough for it to be comfortable. These are thin socks, but allow for great airflow. They are light, and fit well. They are also quite durable. After a good washing, these socks still look brand new.As for the comfort, because they are thin socks, these will pair great with sneakers and trail runners. These pair great with the Saucony’s I mentioned before. They don’t offer much in cushion, but that shouldn’t be an issue when paired with a decent comfortable shoe.

Great socks
Great socks. I look forward to years of enjoyment.

These socks are the most uncomfortable socks I’ve ever seen. They are not fitted like typical darn tough socks – they are just straight tubes with no heel or toe punchouts, (ie: typical darn toughs are shorter on the top and longer on the bottom, these are a cylinder of discomfort).

Love these socks! Have had them for a month only but they fit beautifully and they feel like super good quality which won’t wear out any time soon! (Which is good considering the price!!) Of course they have a lifetime guarantee which backs that up too so I’m sold. I will definitely buy more darn tuff.Just to clarify about the fit…I don’t just mean they are the right size. I mean there is no excess material. They wrap around your foot so nicely! Perhaps that is due to the fact that they have a small option? I wear size 8 women’s and I got the smallest size in these socks and they’re great!I find that most socks get holes within anywhere from a week to a couple months for me (I walk alot and am hard in socks) so I am ok with spending more for something that will last! There is only one thing I would ask the company and that is to have more plain (black) options.

My pair of socks has very bad quality sewing at the toes which you can see in the image. The toe section is squared off right at the top of the toes and there are two corners which rub against my toes. Iâm sure this would cause issues where I to wear them. Unfortunately, I am stuck with them as policy does not allow me to return them.

Love the return and product policy, great feel, and good thickness on the sole. Tight fitting and wicks sweat very well. Always a good investment to have socks that keep your feet dry and healthy!

Good socks looking to last long but fairly warm and a little bit thick for someone looking for ultra thin lightweight socks then don’t buy these. Good buy for the money
