Excellent product & superb warranty service when it quit 11 3/4 months in service.
GFCI technology can save your life in a pinch. This is a well thought out device, and superior to ones I have worn to a frazzle in decades past. My first one of this newer design failed in its eleven month of use. I immediately ordered a replacement because I refuse to put family members at risk using electric yard tools such as hedge trimmers. During that reordering process I noticed that I had purchased the first one during August last year, roughly 51 weeks ago. When the new order arrived I confirmed that the warranty period shown on the paperwork lasts 12 full months. What luck!So I hunted through Amazon’s web page for the company’s contact info and dropped them a note asking how I might request warranty service. The company was ultra-polite throughout the process. They asked that I furnish the order # and to describe the problem in detail, suggesting pictures or a short video if possible. I did so. They asked if I would like a replacement and I indicated that would be delightful. They arranged for Amazon to send one my way and kept me informed at every step of the process. Bravo!I sent my original email query on Sunday afternoon 20 August. The supplier replied early Monday. I took my sweet time making and sending the 30 second video. Nevertheless, the replacement arrived Friday afternoon on 25 August. Impressive! If you’re wondering what’s the big deal about GFCI protection, consider this. (By the way, all of my kitchen circuits are GFCI protected.) I routinely stab an English muffin during its last minute in the toaster to see if it is ‘just right’. I usually do that with an all-metal knife. I make sure that I do NOT touch the red hot Ni-chrome wire inside the toaster with the metal knife. I make equally certain that I am not using the other hand to turn on/off the kitchen sink’s metal faucet located a few feet away. Were I to screw that up I could get a 120 volt wake up that would probably not kill me but would hurt like the dickens. If that circuit is GFCI protected, the odds of a shock being lethal is dramatically reduced.Similarly, if my wife is standing on wet soil in wet shoes while using a hedge trimmer that has faulty insulation, the odds of her being injured is dramatically decreased IF THERE IS a GFCI device somewhere between her and the Grand Coulee Dam’s power generators. It’s magic. The GFCI detects any GF…meaning “ground fault” and it interrupts the circuit (CI) in roughly fifteen one-thousandths of a second. You get a poke that you’ll probably remember but you’ll ‘live and learn’ in all but the rarest of cases. That is an over-simplification but GFCI saves lives.

Works as intended
Product works as intended and have tested to see if it will trip if accidental overload occurs. Good extra protection when using electrical appliances or high demand machinery.

nice GFCI
Replaced another for use w generator. Prior GFIC tripped w 50′ extension but the GFCI was fine w 25 or 100 cords. This one works a bit differently, ie, must be reset on startup, but most important,, it doesn’t trip from inductive issues w 50′ extension. Does cut out if tested.

Solid and Affordable
It’s very durable and senses slightest power outage. Some may not like that but I do since I have an outdoor camera on the other end that I had to replace after power spike corrupted it and I hadn’t yet bought this and placed inline.

Home sauna protection.
I like the LED, it would save me a trip to the circuit breaker in the event I needed to troubleshoot things. I’m using this with a small supplemental space heater for my infrared sauna.

Christmas Tree Lights Safety
This is a sound, sturdy circuit safety meant for power tools and portable lighting, and thus more safety than needed for Christmas lights. Don’t skimp on safety – your family’s lives and your house are worth the little extra expense.

Does he job
I would have preferred his in black but yellow is a good safety color. Works fine as a safety guard for my electrical toys.

Used it for Christmas lights down our dock and feels a lot safer with it in there. Very heavy duty and multiple receptacles with light to know itâs got power.I have it on a timer. I was flipping breakers for a different project and when I turned power on it tripped the gfi so be aware it âmayâ stay tripped after a power outrage.
