Great whistle. Well built, LOUD and clear. We put elastic wristbands on, and use for recall of our shepherd during hikes- if he runs off chasing squirrels. You canât beat these, and if you used for emergencies- there is no doubt youâd be heard. ð

Loud and inexpensive
Good whistles. Loud abut not as loud as the Strom whiles which is a different design. These are the loudest I own in this thin ‘stick’ clip on design. I have 6-8 of this design over the years and just tested them one to the other and this one wins. The Strom is only about 15% louder but it is a lower frequency which can penetrate air differently. I need to try a distance test. I use these for emergency ‘stop’ chainsaw Ops.

Very loud
Very loud, sturdy, lightweight, easy to carry, easy to use-very easy to blow-, doesn’t break unless you smash it with a sledgehammer, it is orange so it’s easy to find, and definitely worth it. Although it doesn’t really look like a whistle it still works like one and maybe even better.

Good product for a good price
Took them with me last week hiking in the Shenandoah National Park. Luckily I didnât have to use them but did try them out prior to the hike. Easy to use and very loud. Much louder than yelling. Comfort knowing that I had them. My wife and I each carried one.

Not Loud
This whistle is okay. The pros are the orange color that make it easy to see in all lighting and backdrops and that it comes with both a lanyard and a clip for convenient access in an emergency. However, it’s not that loud. I tested it in the park today, and the sound is kind of breathy. I would estimate that it could be heard at a maximum of a half mile away. I’ll keep it though – it does carry further than the human voice, and I’m using it only for easy to moderate trails during the 4th of July week in Acadia, when the park is at its most crowded. So the distance heard isn’t so critical. But if you’re going into more remote areas, you’ll need a better whistle than this.
