Wow, works great, lasts long.
Very reflective and easy to see in the sun. Light and not bulky. Takes 1 to 2 minutes to get go’s signal 1st time but then it’s very accurate on course and simple to use so it doesn’t distract me during the game. Battery is great, after a 3.5 hr round it still had a 90% charge and bluetooth was on to connect to garmin phone app. Absolutely love it and would buy again.Update: syill working and if just using as eatch with bluetooth and gps off it lasts a long time its been 2 weeks and still shows almost full charge. I giess thats the benefit of a watch that only does 1 thing i.e. golf and not all the smart watch features I donât need, my phone does that stuff.

Great golf watch
I have had the Bushnell and Tec Tec Tec GPS range finder watches and this is by far the best of the lot. The Bushnell is a good watch and accurate, but the battery only stays charged for 1 round and if a golf course has been redone or had modifications, it is very difficult to get the watch updated for the new layout. The Tec Tec Tec watch is accurate, but doesn’t even hold a charge for a complete 18 hoel round. This Garmin watch has a long charge, is accurate, easy to see in mid afternoon and much easier to attach the charging cord than the other 2. I would recommend

Didn’t know I needed a GPS watch until I got this
I had been using a hand held range finder until one day I played with a group of men who all were wearing GPS watches. I looked it up, and purchased this. I also changed out the strap to a velcro loop style.Pros:Very light weight.Accuracy seems consistent with range finder, and it’s much easier to get distance by looking at your wrist.Able to get lay-up distances, and distances to hazards.Relatively inexpensive.Good contrast in bright daylight, easy to read.Stroke entry works well.Cons:Fairway and hazard visualization is not as good as the expensive color models.Too many steps to “measure shot” or “change hole position”Battery life is as claimed, but it is too short and requires recharge too often.More steps than one would like to get distances to front and back of hazards.Other:Like any GPS watch, it doesn’t actually know distance to the hole. My solution is, when in range of the green for the range finder, to compare the “Center of Green” from the watch to an actual range finder “distance to pin”, and use the difference for other future shots at pin.To replace the original band, I recommend:https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DD57SHV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1It is inexpensive, lightweight, and much easier to put on or remove.Overall, an excellent compromise between weight, cost, and functionality

Great Father’s Day gift
My husband has used his for 6 rounds of golf thus far. He’s impressed with the accuracy. He feels that the battery doesn’t last quite as long as he expected it to, but it’s okay. Had to recharge it one time so far. As for being easy to use, he says that it’s not intuitive. You definitely need to ready the instruction book. Not hard, but it could be more intuitive. Compared to a VERY expensive one that his friend has, this one does everything that an accomplished golfer needs and doesn’t need to have frills that don’t necessarily help the game. Can’t believe I didn’t think about this as the perfect gift earlier! Good value.

Great update from Garmin S10 Approach
This is my 3rd Garmin purchase. I started with an S1 years ago and upgraded to S10 when the S1 died. Ditto years later when S10 died. The S12 is more detailed and finds the satellites much faster. Itâs easier to use as the buttons are labeled.

Good to how much farther to go
I’m comparing this model to the older Approach S1 that I had. The first thing I noticed was how much lighter the S12 was. Both models give front,middle,back distances to the green. The S12 wil also give distances to hazards. The S12 shows the green and skies you to move the flag. I have not tried the functionality (I’m happy to hit the green somewhere!). Both models allow you measure your shot. The S12 battery lasts longer,, but then again the S1 is much older. The S12 allows you to keep score on the watch. I’m still learning how to use that effectively. Not as intuitive as I would have thought. Back to the manual!The minus star is for the functionality that the S1 had, but had been removed from the S12, and that is the odometer. I usually walked the course, and it was interesting to see how far I actually walked.Overall, I am glad that I upgraded.
