Reels from 2000 to 4000 have a graphite handle arm, the 5000 size reels feature an aluminum handle arm for added strength.
Angler Proven Components –Brutus reels feature a zinc alloy main gear and a brass pinion gear that deliver durability and low noise. The steel main shaft ensures strength at the core of the reel. 4 ball bearings are positioned in the most important performance locations. Nice reel. Fit and finish are excellent, very smooth operating.
I am impressed with this reel for the price point. It replaced a seldom used all plastic reel on an Ugly Stik Dockrunner. I used this mainly for bait: running a small sabiki rig, so time will tell how it holds up to saltwater. I thoroughly rinse and dry all my gear immediately after use. If the materials are as well made as they seem to be it hopefully wont be an issue. If it is, there was minimal investment here. The internals seem smooth, and this wont be getting a lot of stress on them. The overall value if certainly there on this reel, and I am impressed with Kastking so far.

Quality equipment!
I purchased this 3000 size to replace a Shakespeare reel that had broke when something heavy was dropped on it. Very smooth action and to me it casts as good or better than the Shakespeare. Have another in the 5000 size on a catfish rig. I highly recommend these for the quality and price!

Never Over load your reel. Know it’s Limitations
Love the Looks and Feel. Sounds Smooth, no grinding, well balanced. Put 100 yds 15lbs Mono, then 150 yrd 30 lbs Mono. Put in on my KastKing KONG. Going to the Lake this weekend. Going to Target, Bass. Will Update. Went to Clear Lake. Cast Far and Smooth, 20 lb Mono. Reels in nice and quiet…no problems with spool. Love it. Worked above expectations.

probably one of the best reels I’ve gotten in a long time. I normally buy Shimano but I have been seeing so many Kast King ads I decided to give it a shot. well, I’m glad I did! I’d say I’ve put in 200-300 casts with this reel already and it keeps going without any mishaps. overall, very thrilled about this purchase, and I will be buying from Kast King again.

Holding up to heavy use
I’ve put this thing through its paces on countless chum salmon who just constantly slow pull your drag like an unruly dog on a leash. Seems to be holding up well despite MANY strong fights even though it’s only the smaller 2000 model.
