So far so good.- value rod
I got mine sept 2020 and am looking to buy more.I hope they did not change quality. Looking at all the 1 star reviews.I took it fishing in california, montana, arizona and belize.Yes the tip is super bendy allowing some fish to set themselves free – pike and bonefish will get off easily. It performs beautifully as long as you donât try to set the hook like a maniac.Small and big mouth bass, porgy, trout, catfish, bluegill, snapper.Had some snags where I had to yank the lure, hook out of rocks and branches – still works.Aligning the guides takes a while to get used to but gets easier with practice.I also have the blqckhawk which has free floating guides. That is a pain to align. That one has the guides fixed to each segment. It will not replace a fast action or a deep sea fishing rod- you will not be able to catch swordfish with it.But in a pinch, it works. And is fun.Because of the bendy tip you feel uthe fight.I wish kastking would send me some of their products for review. Or at least the missing buttcap – haha I travel a lot. Will be ordering another one and will update here on how it goes.Pros:Portability – can have one in the car all the timeReliable so farNice feel in handLightCons:It takes a little while to get used to casting accurately because of the bendy tipLost the buttcapNo other cons. I enjoy fishing with this rod.

Guides and tip are quite below expectation
I keep my reviews to products I absolutely recommend, or for when I feel a buyer needs to be aware of something, and unfortunately it’s the latter in this case. The guides on this pole are uneven, and are laughable thin, which unfortunately means that attempting to level them out puts you at risk of them breaking. It’s not hard to see that even with light use, that the guides will not be the part of this rod that stands the test of time. The same goes with the fiberglass tip. I’ve seen a fair share of telescopic poles, and this is the first time I’ve seen a warped fiberglass tip. While it seems to be responsive and does a good job of delivering a good cast, the quality control and state of it new gives a less than reassuring feeling on how long it’ll last. The rod construction itself is incredibly solid and feels like it could take a hell of a beating. This makes the condition of the guides and tip so much more of a mystery to why they’re so sub par. I’ve got an Ozark trail telescoping spinner that at $20 has amazingly solid guides and tip. I feel that there is no excuse on why the guides are so badly produced, to the point they are ready to snap at a moments notice. Sure, they can’t be bound on both sides, or in multiple points on the face side, but the binding isn’t the issue, it’s what is bound to the rod that’s the issue.I’d love to see the xomp

Pretty good Telescoping rod. Good for keeping in your car.
This is my car rod. Rigged and ready to go in the event I find myself by some water and have some time to kill. Taken it on many lunch breaks. Haven’t had the pleasure of catching anything substantial on it yet, but it should be fine. The reel feels like its on the cheaper end of the spectrum.

VERY Fragile Tip
Purchased for a fishing trip due to ease of packability. Used for all of 15 minutes and tip snapped right off while untangling line from end of rod. Many decades of fishing and never have had this happen with any of several dozen rods I have owned over the years. Luckily, I had also purchased a different travel rod (EOW Xpedite Max) which held up well throughout trip.

KastKing Compass Fishing Rod – A Must-Have for Anglers!
Honestly, I just can’t stop raving about the KastKing Compass Fishing Rod. First of all, upon taking it out of the box, I had to say that it’s really a tall and sleek piece; the design screams quality. Be one who has experience or be a beginner in the field- this rod never disappoints. What makes it stand out? First, it’s lightweight yet very durable. I have used it in different conditions, from calm lakes to rougher waters, and every time, it performed just great. It has a smooth on-feel when casting and gives excellent control when reeling in your catch. For the price, youâd expect some compromises, but there arenât any. Itâs clear that KastKing has put serious thought into creating a rod that combines performance and affordability. Plus, itâs easy to transport, making it perfect for weekend trips or spontaneous fishing adventures. If youâre looking for a rod that delivers high-end performance without the high-end price, this is it. Highly recommendedâdonât hesitate to add this to your gear! ????

Unbeatable quality for the price
Very nice and compact fishing rod. Action seems a little heavier than what I prefer but is understandable being telescopic

Lightweight, easy to pack
I received this rod few days ago and can’t wait for warmer weather to use it! This will go great with the kastking reel that I have. This will make a great rod to take camping and backpacking, as it collapses so short, and is so lightweight (6oz/169g).This would be great with a reel to get longer distances at a lake, or could easily be used with a length of string tied to it like a cane pole to truly keep it lightweight and easily packable for backpacking and fishing in mountain streams.Overall, I’m happy with the build quality of this pole. It extends and locks into place easily, so I’m not worried about it collapsing while fishing. It is easy to collapse with the right amount of force though, so I’m not worried about breaking it while trying to put it away either.I am looking forward to spring and going fishing with my sons with this. I might even look at getting one for each of them instead of packing around the traditional pull apart Rods for when we all go camping.

For the price, it’s a great telescopic rod, feels well made. I might replace the reel though, it feels pretty stiff and you do have to put a lot of effort in to closing the bail by reeling which makes me worry for the longevity of that mechanism.
