That’s more like it….
The first one of these reels I received was either defective OR was damaged in transit (box crushed on on end)… The thing wouldn’t spool evenly no matter what I tried… Made the return and got the replacement today… Well, that’s more like it! No spooling problem this time… Spooled up with Kastking 6lb Black Mamba monofilament and it was all systems go… A couple of things that keep it from getting a 5 star rating… (1) There are no extra washers included if there is a spooling issue; and (2) I had to grease underneath the drag knob. There was no grease at all. This reel is rated for saltwater, and has sealed bearings but unlike a true saltwater reel, there was no grease under the drag knob. Minor detail but an important one for keeping water out of the drag washers. (3) The reel only has 7 plus 1 bearings; I prefer 10 plus 1. Another minor issue but it does affect smoothness. Some pluses: the reel casts extremely well and retrieve is fast (6.2.1) gear ratio. I like the rubber handle, it made for excellent grip vs EVA foam type handles. The drag is smooth with no hang ups. The finish is excellent, beautiful actually, and as a Georgia Bulldog fan, I love the red and Black finish… Kastking kept with their slogan on this reel – affordable innovation. A couple of twerks here and there, and the Royal Legend Glory would have gotten 5 stars….

Good reel
Works great! Bought a second. Looks great with berkely cherrywood rod. 2000 and 4000 for ml and mh rods. No problems at all so far. The handle is a bit weak though. I stepped on it by accident and It snapped. Stepped on my cheap sunglasses at the same time, they’re fine. Otherwise recommended, just treat gingerly

Reel good
I really enjoy KastKing products. I have three reels so far and they have brought in some decent fish. This reel is smooth casting, quiet and holds up well when I catch bigger fish. The color is beautiful and with the KastKing rod it’s a beautiful set up.

Smooth As Butter!
I normally use baitcasters but I needed a spinning reel for friends who visit and can’t use a baitcaster. I spooled it with 20lb braid and it casts a mile. The retrieve is so smooth. Kastking products are top notch!

birds nests
I have to be careful with this reel because it will produce a dreaded birds nest if I don’t pay attention to how the line is spooled. I’ve had lesser expensive reels that don’t do this. The reel is pretty smooth and I like it as long as I’m watching the condition of the line.

Very well built .bail snaps over with percussion , looking forward to ripping some lips with it ! If had to be critical drag should be a little louder & reel a little lighter. All & all Iâd buy another.
