From the brand
Kettle Gryp started as an idea between long-time friends Dan and Andy. We wanted the benefit of a kettlebell workout without buying a whole new set of weights. Dan came up with a clever way to adapt a kettlebell style handle to existing dumbbells. Andy created our patented design and didn’t cut any corners. As a US Marine Corps veteran, it was important that Kettle Gryp was 100% made in the USA with high quality parts.
Kettle Gryp Color Options
TURNS DUMBBELLS INTO KETTLEBELLS IN A SNAP: Simply, open hinged handle, place your own dumbbell into the grip, re-close handle, snap latch. Kettle Gryp has the #1 patented secure latching closure. Easy. Safe. Secure.
DUMBBELL COMPATIBILITY: Compatible with most adjustable dumbbells and nearly all standard dumbbells with bare metal handles (max 1.5″ handle diameter, min 4.5″ handle length). **Does not fit** most vinyl or neoprene coated dumbbell handles because those are often too thick and/or too short. Great Idea!
I already had an extensive dumbbell collection and wasn’t really excited about laying down even more money on a set of kettlebells. Came across this and decided to give it a try. It works great!! Saved a ton of money and now I can use all my dumbbells as kettlebells as well. Brilliant

review for KETTLE GRYPs
Great concept and clean execution. I’ve hit the weight limits on my current adjustable kettlebells for some exercises, and I didn’t want to buy more kettlebells. I already have a set of heavy adjustable dumbbells, so this idea would work well for me. These fit NUOBell dumbells perfectly. The only issue I have is that as you increase the weight on the adjustable dumbbells, the width increases, which makes movements like swings awkward. I really have to spread my legs out to make it work. Still, it’s a great product.I like the concept so much that I will probably purchase a different version that allows you to rotate the weights. The competitors’ products don’t seem as sturdy as these, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

Great idea & product, but lacks in rotation locking
TLDR: great product, does what it intends, really handy; however, it might fall short of locking the dumbbellâs rotation if its handle is on the thin side.To the manufacturer: this product would get a solid 5-star if it was better at preventing the (on axis) rotation of dumbbells with thinner handles, for instance by including removable rubber pads (in order to adjust the inside diameter). As already pointed out by other reviewers, this product is really great overall. However, it comes short of fully locking my dumbbells in place, since they are fairly thin (1â handle, if I recall correctly). They wonât escape of course, but can rotate on their axis. This might not seem like a big deal, but it actually is. This means in particular that the energy of some parts of the movements (eg the brutal deceleration at the bottom of a swing) can be substantially transferred to the weights (through their rotation) instead of oneâs body; this in turn significantly changes the resistance profile of an exercise. For instance, I use it for explosive swings, and after fixing the rotation issue (see below), I almost got knocked off my feet â which never happened previously. The exercise was now way more challenging.Bonus tip: if you encounter this problem, Iâd recommend wrapping your dumbbell handle with rubber or similar material before locking it. Iâve used an (already damaged) resistance band (a big one) with great success, carefully wrapping it around the handle. This might damage the rubber, though.Bonus tip 2: if you use adjustable dumbbells, you also have to make sure that the weights canât rotate wrt the dumbbell axis. This includes making sure they donât unlock halfway through a set, but unfortunately one side will probably keep unlocking (thatâs just physics). Iâve solved this problem on mine by adding a second pair of locks, and this keeps the first ones from moving. Hope this helps.

So simple and saves money!
I recently discovered the Kettle Gryp, a brilliant device that allows you to transform your dumbbells into kettlebells with ease. As someone who invested in a home gym post-Covid, I was initially planning to purchase a set of kettlebells to add to my collection of dumbbells. However, the Kettle Gryp has proven to be a cost-effective solution that is saving me money in a big way.Gym equipment can often come with a hefty price tag, so finding a versatile and affordable tool like the Kettle Gryp has been a game-changer for me. The device is incredibly simple to use and has held up well even with my 45lb dumbbells.I highly recommend the Kettle Gryp to anyone looking to expand their home gym equipment without breaking the bank. It’s a practical and efficient tool that allows for a seamless transition from dumbbell to kettlebell exercises.

This thing is AWESOME!!!
I’ve been wanting to incorporate kettlebells into our home gym for a while, but our space is very limited (as is our disposable income). Enter this product! It is very sturdy and there is zero fear of the dumbbell flying out and hitting the wall.I looked at other cheaper products, but they were built differently. Instead of the whole unit (handle included) opening to accommodate the dumbbell, it had a small compartment on the bottom that opened – BIG RED FLAG. I didn’t trust it and went with this one instead.I was concerned that it would be too wide on the bottom for kettlebell swings, but it worked great! I had room to spare.Highly recommend this product!!

Does what it says it will
I use this in conjunction with bowflex weights to do farmer’s walks. The mechanism is solid. The bowflex weights have a rubber handle that is pretty thick, so these do close a little tightly on it, but it fits fine. I was worried that having a split in the handle might lead to an uneven holding surface and potentially even pinching. I can say that this has not been a problem in my experience. Very happy with my purchase as kettle balls are quite pricey and having to purchase varying weights would become expensive very quickly… just to never use them again as I progress. That being said, the obvious downside is the weight, especially a bowflex weight, is much wider than a kettle bell. I expect I may use this set up until I get to a “final” weight and might splurge and buy a specific kettle bell. Otherwise I’m happy.

Grip dosen’t stay together well.
Works well for most exercises but the grip will move and spilt when doing anything where it swings or moves in your hand a lot.

I was in the process of buying kettlebells then saw this product. As I already had dumbbells I bought it. You get the same result at a fraction of the cost and it is really sturdy clicks shut reassuringly. Great product.
