   The market for IPL devices designed for hair has rapidly expanded in recent years, and there are now a large number of options available on Amazon.Having personally tried many of these IPL devices, it’s clear that most work pretty much the same, with only minor variations setting them apart. When it comes to hair removal, the most significant discrepancies typically revolve around power (wattage of the AC adapter), ergonomics (device shape and button placement) and the inclusion of “ICE” functionality, which actively cools the targeted area during treatment.This particular incorporates ICE Cooling functionality, and performs reasonably–though it is a bit on the high end, price-wise, comapare to other IPL devices offering similar features.Specifics of this IPL device:** Only performs hair removal** Includes ICE skin cooling functionality** LCD screens show the number of flashes left and power level (1-6)** Rated for 48W (medium power for a home IPL)** Stick shaped** Rated for 999,999 flashesBy utilizing slow-motion photography, I managed to capture a snapshot of the light lasting approximately 1/100th of a second (refer to the attached photos). Keep in mind that the duration of the light emission is extremely brief.When using the device, glide it over the area from which you want to remove hair, ensuring that you expose all the hair follicles in that particular region. Immediate results will not be noticeable. The light emitted by the device sends signals to your hair follicles, prompting them to cease growth. However, it will require multiple treatments spread over several weeks before noticeable results can be expected. Over time, you should observe a significant reduction in hair growth in the treated areas.In the box, you get the tool, a power supply, a protective bag, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions. Everything fits in a custom “hat box” styled case. This case is too clumsy for travel (and doesn’t have a clasp to keep it closed), so I consider it mostly for storage for home use.Ice functionality is another term for “Local epidermal cooling.” This is local cooling of the epidermal region (surface skin) in the region where the IPL light pulse is being applied. The high-powered light can be irritating to some people, and cooling the skin in that region can reduce the immediate irritation. Epidermal cooling is not required for efficient use, but it may make it less unpleasant to use the device for some users.This IPL device is a bit on the high side of price, given the features. Those features include the ICE cooling, and that it is powered by a 48W power supply, which is better than the lower power usually associated with low end units.Note that the shape of this unit is a bit unusual–most of these are either gun shaped or more oblong.    Big improvement over my last IPL device. Nice gift idea!
   This isn’t my first IPL rodeo. I used a similar device for several months a few years ago. I don’t remember why I quit using it…maybe I just gradually forgot about it. In any case, I hope that won’t happen here because this seems like a really nice machine. Its presentation is SO MUCH BETTER than my last IPL device! This one comes in a lovely case with a purple leatherette cover. It has molded velveteen foam to hold the contents in place. Those are a razor, dark safety glasses, a power adapter and cord, a user manual, a quick start guide, and the IPL device itself. This case is a really nice touch, but it is also a little frustrating because it doesn’t have a latch or any way to keep it closed other than friction. Neither does it have a handle, so it’s kind of meant to just sit on a shelf or something at home, not for traveling. Anyway, the IPL device has a stick design which I prefer, as opposed to the ‘gun’ shape of others I’ve used. It is very lightweight; that seems to be a big difference between this and the last one I used regularly. This guy is light and ergonomically comfortable to use. Operation is pretty straightforward and streamlined, with only two buttons to power it on and off and to select your intensity level, depending on the area you want to target. Like other devices, it has a countdown display to show you how many flashes you have left. The laser window stays cool, thanks in part to the fan that constantly runs while this thing is powered on. I can’t be completely certain, but I *think* that, despite the noise of the fan, this thing is still much quieter than my last device, so that’s another great improvement.I only just got this hair removal device a couple of days ago, so I can’t yet speak to its effectiveness. However, having used a similar product in the past, I feel pretty confident that it will deliver on its promise, at least in some measure. Don’t expect any miracles with this or any IPL device. It takes time–a lot of time in some cases–to see the benefits, and it requires dedication and consistency. You need commitment for it to work, not to mention the right skin tone/hair color combination (lighter skin, darker hair is ideal). You can find more about that in the user manual. By the way, the manual and quick start guide are really helpful and informative, especially if this is your first experience with a device like this. That’s a big help. Another tip? Wear the protective glasses! At least until you know what you’re doing. It’s important to protect your eyesight, and if this laser light is so intense that it can kill hair follicles, what do you think it could do to your eyes??Overall, though, I think this is a good quality device at a very nice price. It could make a very thoughtful gift, and its elegant presentation makes it ready for giving!

   I’ve got my hands on a hair removal device that’s out of this world! This IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device is like wielding a lightsaber against unwanted hair. But, instead of cutting through the darkness, it zaps those pesky hairs, leaving your skin smooth and hair-free.Just like a trusty lightsaber that you put in a hilt. The device comes in a PU case, and includes other accessories razor, safety glasses, and a quick start guide. It’s like receiving a high-end gift from the galaxy far, far away. The case itself is a bit of a mixed bag – it’s stylish, it has a luxury look but lacks a latch or handle, it has a clam shell closure.Now, let’s talk about the device itself. It’s lightweight, ergonomic, and features a sleek stick design. The operation is straightforward, with only two buttons to navigate. The LCD display shows the number of flashes left and the power level.But, what about the performance? I’ve only just started using it, but I’m optimistic. IPL is a mixed bag on what it actually does and the results. Long term studies say it only reduces hair or lightens it but, isn’t a permanent solution. Check the FDA and IPL.Give it a try it as it may work for you.May the hair removal force be with you!
