Good headlamps
These headlamps are great. My husband has used them to augment his aging eyesight and finds them really helpful for his hobbies and reading. The switch works well, they aren’t too heavy, and we’re a great value for the price. He finds them to be easy to use, easily adjustable, and durable. These are keepers.

Liked it so much I bought another
The spot light modes are super bright, but recently for multi-day trips, I use the low diffuse modes to conserve battery. That mode is sufficiently bright for doing stuff within arms reach, in the tent, etc. It’s lighter and brighter than my Petzel with 3 AAA batteries. The built-in battery with USB charging is very convenient because I already carry a charging brick (for my phone) and I don’t have to take separate AAAs with me. The price is good. The red mode is not bright enough for me to use, but I’m not going to take a point off. The blinking red-green seems pointless; blinking red-blue would be cool – like police siren lights 🙂 Even “red on port, green on starboard” could be more useful as navigation lights.

Poor beam pattern for some uses
I just got these lights, and over all I would say I got what I paid for. The quality isn’t great, but it’s also two for under $20, so that’s to be expected. My only complaint so far is with the beam pattern, the photos in the description don’t do a great job of illustrating what you actually get.I bought these for close up use on small electronics projects, so for many other uses they are probably fine. The tight beam is VERY tight. For up close use it will only illuminate a very small area, very brightly. The “flood” setting is basically useless. It does indeed scatter light, but it’s so dim, even on the brightest setting, to be useless for anything other than casting a bit of light in a pitch black room. And if you were doing that, the tight beam would scatter enough light to be more useful and far more illuminating. For comparison, I have been using a Energizer AAA powered light that cost about $15. I’m much happier with it’s beam settings, both on it’s tight and flood settings. I was just going through batteries so fast I decided to try a rechargeable. If you’re looking for something really cheap to use camping or walking outdoors at night, these are probably fine, but I personally wouldn’t purchase them again for my purpose.

Good internal Lithium rechargeable battery
Ok, let me get straight to the point. This light can go bright and last a reasonably long time being in bright mode. It has 4 light modes as follows, (1) Spotlight, low power, (2) Spotlight, High power, (3) Floodlight, low power and (4) Floodlight, high power. I performed tests of the Lepre headlamp being at high power spotlight and low power floodlight. When in Spotlight, High power the battery lasted for at least 3 hours (may have lasted longer but I didn’t note the exact time it shut off). When in Floodlight, low power it lasted for 13+ hours (I finally turned it off and started charging it as it had lasted long enough for my needs). Note, there is also a 2-mode LED colored light button. 1 press and it lights up 2 red leds on the outside. 2 press and it lights up the same 2 red led lights BUT also 2 interior green lights and both colors will flash. Its definitely going to get you noticed for all you runners/walkers/joggers out there.

Bright lights and beats buying batteries.
I use them everyday for work after it gets dark. They last for between 6 to 9 hours depending upon the brightness and the age of the unit. A par of head lamps will last me about a year. I normally carry three in my work backpack. I let them go completely dead then I charge them when I get home. Note: Battery headlamps don’t have a grace period of going dim. When the Battery goes dead, it shut off. You always need to carry a spare headlamp. I bought them for my 2nd shift fuel truck Wagon route for fueling fleet trucks and when I delivered lumber products. They are also great for doing mechanical work/ house repairs in tight dark spot, camping/hiking trips. You can charge them using a backpack solar charger if you backpacking or use a USB port using a wall/car plug.

I’ve been a camper, backpacker and outdoor person for decades and used almost every kind of torch and head torch, I have heaps of kit but find myself picking one of these to use when I need a lightweight carry solution. The recharge ability is extemely useful when bikepacking as it can be done from a small powerbank or direct from my cycle dynamo.Considering the prices I have paid in the past for kit like this I think that this 2 pack represents awesome value, been using them now for over 6 months on the bike and also 1 in the campervan. Had zero problems and never actually managed to run one down completely despite using them through the evenings.I love the review section and always visit it when making a purchase here. Hope this helps you to make the right choice if you are after a lightweight head torch. i would buy again with no hesitation.
