Another great Merrell product for a long, wet hike
I am a woman with big feet. Women’s boots do not fit me well. I have been a fan of Merrell Moab Ventilators for more than a decade – I currently have a pair of mid-highs and low tops, which serve me well. I buy them in a men’s size which comfortably fit my feet.I am not a fan of waterproof boots! I can’t imagine walking miles and miles with moist feet. My Ventilators get wet but dry very fast so have never been a problem in wet, muddy weather.I had a long walk ahead of me – the Camino de Santiago de Campostelle in Spain but I feared that my good ol’ Ventilators might not last the hundreds of miles. When these boots came on sale, I decided to give them a try. They were Merrells, which gave me confidence. They were a different color from my Ventilators so I would be able to tell these waterproofs from my other Merrells, also! These boots exceeded my expectations from day one. They fit very comfortably, even with the layers of socks I use to prevent blisters. They were water resistant, although not totally waterproof, which meant that, even in the worst downpours, of which there were MANY, on rocky, muddy trails, my feet were only slightly moist and the boots dried overnight. They did not show any wear and tear, and the Vibram soles did not slip (yes, I used hiking poles). They fit well, were breathable, yet kept my feet relatively dry under the worst conditions (the video does not do them justice). I still love my Ventilators and will use them until they wear out but these were a good investment for the rugged use I put them through.

Really comfortable shoe
I have tried other hiking boots/shoes and I am always happy with Merrell. I buy others for price benefits, but you get what you pay for. These shoes feel great immediately; as if they were specifically made for me.I have a wider foot and flat footed as well. While the support with the shoe would most likely be sufficient for my flat feet, I still buy my own insoles. Habit. Foot comfort is key regardless the task.I walk 2-4 miles a day with my dog. I can wear boots out quickly. These Merrells hold their own, though. I can almost get a year out of a pair. The shoe itself is still in great shape usually, but the soles wear according to my gait and that is the reason for getting a new pair.I like the above ankle shoe/boot. It offers enough ankle support still without being a boot. It has great traction. Difficult to walk in new ones due to such great traction and width of sole, but thatâs probably because I get used to walking in my worn out ones.ð¤·ð»ââï¸Warm enough for Michigan Winters. The waterproofing is great, too. Spring in Michigan can be extremely wet. 2-4 miles walking in wet grass or puddles, it is nice to have dry feet at the end (well, during as well).I think I may be finished shopping around. Iâve had Raichle, Red Wing, Keen, Field and Stream, and Salomon to name a few. All of those were good as well, but either discontinued a style or changed manufacturing which changed the product. Iâll just stick with these Merrells as long as they maintain their quality. You may benefit from doing what Iâm doing and just sticking with what works (for me), which is Merrell.

One of the most comfortable and best hiking boot there is.
These Merrell Moab 2 Waterproof boots are some of the very best. I hike all over the world, including trekking in the Himalaya Mountains of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and Ladakh. I also have used these boots in the deserts and canyons of the American Southwest. Without fail, these boots are some of the most comfortable, with excellent treads for mud, sleet, and and other wet conditions. Good for crossing streams, and on slippery rocks. With excellent ankle support. Also, they are light weight, so breath well, and keep your feet dry. If you have problems with blisters, these relatively soft boots with fix that. I got this pair for $99.00 which is the very best price you can find. They list for well over $150.00. I have used up three or four pairs, walking hundreds and hundreds of miles in them. For the price, it does not get any better than these. Highly recommended.

Use these as a mechanic everyday, through grease, grime, wet and all sorts of crud. I will never wear steel toe boots as they destroy my feet, I’m a sensitive boy. They don’t last forever in these conditions but they are the most comfortable boot on the market and always keep my feet warm. I’ve purchased 7 or 8 variations over 5 years of this boot and never had any manufacturing issues or failures. The “wide” option allows me to fit a velvety soft memory foam insert and keeps my bones happy. Yeah boy.

My first 21st Century boots are now 15 years old. These boots are more comfy, lighter, durable, and easy to clean. Good traction, lacing, smooth edges (not sharp) of the lace guides (?grommets). Size your foot carefully to be sure to get the correct size for you.
