Sound quality is good
I needed a new pair of earbuds to replace my old, first gen Airpods and wanted to give these a try. The transition was seamless despite being a non-Apple product. The sound quality is pretty decent and I like that it’s not noise cancelling which is what I need for my work calls. My only gripe is that the charging contacts on the earbuds are a bit sketchy and loose but I don’t really throw them around everywhere so I guess it’s fine for now.

Having a back up pair of earbuds seems practical so I decided to order these to see how they compare to my brand name earbuds. They arrived the next day via Amazon Prime in a shrink wrapped. carboard box well suited to gifting. Included was a short charging cable, the charging case and some instructions.PROS:-Solid physical design and material quality, these don’t feel flimsy or cheap.-I have tried many different earbuds over the years and I often find them uncomfortable to wear for any extended period of time. These do not bother me at all (they have the soft rubber inner ear design) and I was able to listen to a full movie without any problem.-The sound quality is not bad, not as good as either of my fill sized head sets, but to be honest, they were surprisingly decent compared to my brand name buds.-Bluetooth connectivity to my phone was easy to set up. While I only intend to use these with my phone, just to test them, I also paired these to a lap top and a desktop PC without any problem.-My favorite thing about this product are the touch controls, they are not as sensitive as I would have liked but this is a nice addition to budget earbuds.- I think these will be perfect as a spare set for travelling or if when going to the beach or doing outdoor activities because you can replace them in the event of any mishaps.-Sometimes the case on budget friendly earbuds feel cheap too me but I like this one. I find the flip top snapping sound rather satisfying :)-Call quality was fine, my caller and I were able to hear each other without a problem.CONS:-These seem to have inconsistent battery life. The first time I was able to get 10 hours of play time, but the second time felt much closer to 6 hours on a full charge. I will monitor this closely in the upcoming weeks.-A personal preference would have been to have a single mat colour, currently these are not offered in other styles or colours.Overall, these are perfectly functional, budget-friendly earbuds which are comfortable to wear and easy to set up. The current price point of $20 CAD provides excellent value.

I wanted to get some wireless earbuds but was concerned about battery life as most that Iâve owned would only last no more than a couple of hours.I decided to give these wireless earbuds by Monster a try. The model N-Lite 208 is very small almost like the size of airpods and the charging case just as small⦠small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It charges by USB C. The LED light doesnât really indicate if itâs charging as it quickly turns off.On a full charge I was able to use both earbuds for approximately 5 hours before the batteries died. Both sides lost power roughly around the same time and would give an audible tone when it was getting down to the last bit.The touch or fingerprint area on the earbuds is quite small and I found it a little difficult to get my figure on the right spot to turn on/off. The settings took a little getting used to especially when paired with my iPhone. The sound when it comes to music was decently good for the size and bass was strong but not overpowering. The highest volume was still good and not overbearing but still too loud for my liking. The earbuds did well with phone calls and the microphone worked on both sides.I liked that the earbuds snap right into the holder with I assume magnets. Since theyâre very light, they stay pretty snug in your ear and I like the airpod-like design. I have small ears and I think they fit well and are not uncomfortable. I really like that they donât poke into your ears and that the quality of the materials feels solid. At time of this review, these wireless earbuds are valued at $20 which is definitely a great value for what youâre getting. I plan on using them in conjunction with a wireless transmitter to monitor audio. It allows me to not be tethered with earbud wires which will be a nice change and five hours is more than enough for me between recharging.

The earbuds come with a small USB-C charging cable, user manual and a warranty guide. The case if fairly compact with a light textured surface on the case that gives it a matte finish. The case cover is very easy to open, and the hinge keeps it open even when placed on the table. This was a complaint I have with other cases, difficult to open and the cover keeps wanting to close on itself, so Iâm happy to see this was not the case here. The earbuds are fairly easy to remove from the case even though it has a smooth glass like finish. It is very reminiscent of the AirPods design where there is no silicone cover or tips.Placing them in my ear but because of the smooth surface it doesnât hold very well in my ear (ear canal area may be larger). This is one of the issues I have with this design and feels like itâs going to drop out of my ear. A silicone cover would have been nice to fix this issue.Pairing process is fairly simple and painless. It starts the pairing process as soon as the case is opened vs having to take them out of the case before it pairs with your phone.I played some videos & music and found that audio sync is very good. Lip movement is in sync with the audio, which is less common than youâd expect.Audio quality is very good. It has clear treble and very good deep bass.Note: I had to really push the earbuds into my ear for the audio quality to improve, otherwise the audio was just good.Touch pads are on the front of the stems and is a bit awkward to press. While on a phone call, I was told I sounded a bit distant vs the speakerphone on my phone, but the audio was clear. On my end of the call, audio was clear and fairly loud as I needed to lower it down to approx. 60% while in a quiet room.Overall, the Monster N-Lite 208 earbuds worked well. Good audio quality and more importantly the audio was in sync with the video. The case is compact and easy to open and has a good hinge mechanism as it will stay opened until you close it (wonât close on its own). My only complaint is that the earbuds are super slick and donât fit in my ear properly, so they feel like falling out all the time. It may work better for you, but theyâre a pass for me even though the audio quality was good.At the time of this review, the earbuds were priced at $19.99, which is a good value, but Iâd personally look for something else that fit my ears better.

I own both the Monster N-Lite 206 in addition to this N-Lite 208, both of which cost $20 CAD. I can easily say the other model is way better in terms of audio quality.I described the N-Lite 206’s audio as being ‘V-Shaped’ (lots of bass+treble, but recessed mids), with bass that was slightly overdone but which otherwise was punchy but well-controlled. And overall it was pleasing to listen to, being in particular warm and natural sounding for podcasts. However the bass on this model (the 208) is out-of-control by comparison, and just sounds boomy and muddy, and it distorts everything else going on in a song. In the bass-heavy song I’m listening to right now for example, the bass lacks punch but at the same time drowns out the rest of the song and makes the singer sound someone is turning a volume-dial up and down on their voice. Just strange to listen to.Connectivity, battery and call quality are about the same as the N-Lite 206 however. So they’re about the same in all regards except audio quality. If $20 CAD is your budget for earbuds, I’d say just go for the Monster N-Lite 206 instead. It’s more comfortable and has a sound you can get behind (at least as far as $20 earbuds go).UPDATE:After using it for a couple more days, I’ve noticed these have more clarity and warmth than the N-Lite 206 model, and it’s noticeably better for stuff like podcasts and voices. There’s much fewer treble peaks to make treble-sensitive ears ring. However the bass is still boomy and muddy for certain types of content. For example when playing Halo: Reach, there’s a lot of ambient background noise in-game. On these earbuds, the overdone boominess of the bass makes it sound like I’m underwater, and the game is very unpleasant to play. When I switch to the N-Lite 206, the sound is a bit less clear and a bit more muffled, but the overwhelming boominess is gone.So for voice calls and podcasts, or bass-light music, these are very noticeably more pleasant than the N-Lite 206. But if you want a better all-rounder, with a more boring and muffled sound, then I’d recommend the N-Lite 208 instead.

At the time of order, these earbuds were heavily discounted to $20 but I see they are normally around $139-149. They are heavily discounted again for Black Friday and at these prices, they are a steal.I have several different brands of earbuds including the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, and a couple others. All retail from about $150 to $300. These Monster earbuds are very close to the quality of those others. The main difference being the Monster buds don’t offer Active noise canceling. For me, that isn’t an issue as I never use it on other earbuds or headphones. The sound quality from these is quite good and pretty much matches the other higher-end earbuds. I find the bass a little “undefined” or not as crisp as I’d like on certain tracks but not so much so that these are a poor choice for music. Many times the issue is with the digital download vs the actual headphones. So tracks are just not recorded well. The controls are different than what I am used to but once you adapt to how these work, they work very well and are considerably better than my Buds2 Pro, which are the most expensive I own. Rarely do I have to repeat the command where that is almost the norm on mist other earbuds.Overall a good value at the regular price. Very good quailty and a steal at the discounted price. If they are on sale (currently $39.99, grab them – seriously)
