excellent product with great support
i bought this product after looking into a lot of other braces. this brace provides solid support without causing your foot to fall asleep. before, i’ve been using the spandex type with 2 long bandages attached to it. i’ve also used the type that you lace up, typically made of leather or like material. i’m sure most people know the type of products i’ve been using. both provided pretty good support but it was just too uncomfortable to use during basketball. my foot would not get the blood circulation and was just irritating. most times than not, i end up having to readjust and/or just take off the whole thing.i’ve been using this brace for about 4 weeks now, about 2 times a week for basketball. this provides the support you want without the irritation. period. solid product that does its job. only con i’ve found is that the ankle cushion is just not enough. i just put a folded sock on the inner side of my ankle and it is perfect.definitely give this brace a look cause it is just great, especially for this price range. nothing else that i’ve tried (spandex w/ 2 bandages, lace-up, and individual bandages) was this comfortable and supportive.UPDATE: 8/1/2013I’ve meant to update this review earlier but forgot to. I stopped using the brace when I was looking to get a second pair for both ankles about 1 year after my purchase. The reason why I stopped using them was because I found the Active Ankle T-2 to have superior padding around the ankles (without the need for an extra sock for padding) and the strap that goes around the brace was much larger which felt more secure. In fact, the brace itself was much larger as well. But I’m sure I’ll keep this one as an emergency back-up whenever I need one.

Amazing Support for Recovery â Highly Recommend!
The Mueller Lite Ankle Brace has been a lifesaver for my son! After breaking his ankle in multiple places, we were worried about how well heâd recover and get back to playing soccer. But with this brace, heâs been able to play full games without any issues! It provides excellent support, is comfortable to wear, and doesnât restrict his movement on the field. I highly recommend it for anyone recovering from ankle injuriesâitâs truly made a difference in his confidence and ability to play again. A fantastic product!

Thought this might help the ankle, however it rubs on the leg, therefore I really can’t use it, as it moves on the leg due to the fact that you cannot tighten it enough to prevent the action.

Foot brace
Would be perfect if the bottom part that goes under your foot was soft . Instead itâs a hard piece of plastic. Is uncomfortable for me. I was looking for this short type of brace rather than the taller brace.

Active Ankle is better, but this is the best for the price
Basically all the ligaments that provide lateral support (prevent from rolling/dislocating) in both of my ankles are shot from multiple injuries over the years and I cannot play active sports without braces.These stirrup type of ankle braces are ***absolutely the best design for providing lateral support.*** They are also the easiest/fastest braces to put on and take off and don’t restrict the hinging motion of the ankle, which is exactly what I need.I have used the “Active Ankle” braces for years and those are a bit more comfortable than these Mueller braces, but they both work very well. I have also found that the Active Ankle braces last longer, so they may be a better value in the long run if you wear them out like I do. My last Mueller brace wore out quick and I switched to Active Ankle for both feet, but I saw these were a good price, so I decided to try the Mueller brace for my not-quite-as-bad right foot and see how it holds up vs. Active Ankle on my left.In any case, if you need good lateral support from an ankle brace, Active Ankle are best, but these Mueller braces will also do a great job and cost less.

Price reflects quality…
this just isn’t a quality product, and it’s reflected in price, sadly. i’ve owned different iterations of the other brand of similarly styled ankled braces, and those are far and away better than mueller’s product. i thought i’d give these a try, given the difference in price, but it turned out to be a bad decision. just the fact that these are one size fits most should have clued me in to the fact that this product is pretty much an after-thought to try and give the other brand some competition (which it really doesn’t). that’s not the worst part about this only one size approach though. because these don’t provide any sort of custom fit, the rivets that hinge the lower bracket to the upper support pieces can, as mine does, dig into your ankle and cause more discomfort. even with cushioned basketball socks, these always leave indents in my ankle when i take them off after a session of hooping. the heel pad is also way too thick, and totally distorts the feel and fit of my shoes. instead of feeling less intrusive, they feel obvious (if that makes sense). in other words, you always notice that this brace is lifting your heel unnecessarily. even when i remove the pad, there’s still the piece of velcro attached to the plastic foundation that just feel unnatural. finally, the foam padding on the upper support is made of such cheap, i-don’t-know-what material, that even after just 8 sessions, it’s already starting to disintegrate. i really want to like this product, since the price point is so attractive. but unfortunately, the price is its only redeeming quality. so, 2 stars….

The best ankle defense I tried so far (fifth thing I tried). Allows to play football without thinking about ankle issues and does not limit your moves. Rather durable – previous one lasted for five years and still can be used.
