Fantastic Reel
This reel is an absolute gem, especially when you consider the price. I’ve got a bunch of spinning reels to stack this against, and let me tell you, it holds its own just as well as ones that cost twice as much. Now, there’s just this one teeny-tiny thing – the red color scheme. I love it. Fish probably couldn’t care less about colors, but I’m all about those stylish rod and reel combos. Seriously though, this reel is a jackpot of value. You’ll save some serious bucks by steering clear of the mainstream options.So, picture this: I’m moving on up from a beginner’s spin caster combo to my first “real” reel. I wanted something that screams reliability and solidity, and the Ceymar didn’t let me down. From the moment I cast it, I felt like a pro. The drag? Oh, it works like a charm. Okay, so yes, there was this tiny hiccup when it tangled up on my first go (probably a bit too much line, my bad). But since then? Smooth sailing, my friend. I’ve taken it out for some bank and boat fishing, and let me tell you, it casts like a dream. I even gave it a little dip in freshwater a couple of times â and it still spins and reels like it’s covered in butter. Now, if I really had to find something to nitpick about, it’d be that the handle knob can sometimes loosen a smidge. But come on, that’s like finding a sprinkle in a scoop of ice cream â it doesn’t even count. Overall, I’m beyond pleased with this reel!

Great Ultralight Reel…
I purchased the C-10 reel and paired it with the Okuma Celilo Ultralight Trout Spinning Rod (CE-S-662UL-1). I live on a small lake near Atlanta, GA and wanted an ultralight setup to fish for panfish off of my dock and an occasional trip to the river to fish for trout (stocked Rainbow and wild Brown). The rod was highly rated by several reviewers and was consistently rated as the ‘best budget trout rod’. I didn’t have any knowledge of the Okuma brand before I started my research but felt comfortable making the purchase after reading the 9th or 10th positive review. I did less research on the reel but assumed the Ceymar series from Okuma would be a suitable match for the rod.I was really pleased with the quality of the reel as soon as I opened the box! My expectations were not all that high at the sub fifty dollar price point but whatever they were, they were exceeded. I’m more of a weekend angler than serious fisherman and I’ve owned plenty of big-box store combo spinning rods & reels that are great for wetting a line and not much more. The Ceymar C-10 is a HUGE step up from the 1 or 2 bearing reels that I’m accustomed to using! I’ve only had the rod & reel for 3+ weeks so I can’t offer any opinion on the long term durability but I have already caught plenty of bluegill and redear sunfish along with a couple of 3/4 lb bass… it handled them all without any issues and is a pleasure to use. At this point I’m a new Okuma fan and highly recommend the reel.

bought for a lighter reel when ice fishing BOQ. a little light and the quality is so so. i only use occasionally when i down size my lures to catch the light biting eyes.

The reel is very smooth and well built. Love the matte dark green finish on it. The foam handles will come in handy during those colder wet days. If you’re purchasing this reel, please look at the picture attached. The reel’s spool is not as wide as shown in the amazon photo. Not sure which model that is but it’s definitely bigger.
