Absolutely love these pastels!
I did not like pastels, in fact, I hated them. One day, I saw an artist on social media, who was raving about these Panpastels. His artwork was amazing, so, I went ahead and bought this 20 Color Set Painting Colors. I was blown away at the ease of application, buttery, creamy texture, and how so very pigmented these colors are! This is, by far, the best medium, I’ve ever worked with. I use colored pencils and pastel pencils with them, and, I love the results. The containers stack and screw together, like, those plastic containers that you would store beads in. I did buy the clear pallets, that hold all 20 of them. That comes with a plastic cover. I also recommend that you buy the Panpastel Colorless Blender. The set comes with Sofft tools, enough to get you started. The set only comes with the round and square spatula, with covers, and not the pointed or oval one. It also comes with other extra sponges. The set also only comes with 4 lids, because of how they stack and store. So, if you want to store them separately, you need to purchase extra lids. I recommend using Pastelmat paper, if you can. The other pastel papers work too, but, I feel that Pastelmat is the best for these. You may feel that they cost a lot, and, they are not cheap, but, these pastels will last you a VERY LONG time. They are so very highly pigmented, that you need very little product. The Sofft Tools and replacement sponges are not that expensive, and, you get a lot of use out of them, before you have to purchase more. Because I loved this set so much, I went ahead and bought the 20 Color Set Tints. That set is amazing also, and, great for creating skin tones. If you have basic knowledge of color theory, you can certainly mix your own colors to achieve tints, but, I’m lazy. I am looking forward to purchasing their other sets in the future. Overall, I enjoy using these pastels, for the kind of art I like to create, and, I am very pleased with the purchase. Research on your own first, before purchasing, and, watch video tutorials, to see if this would be something that you may be interested in.

Pan Pastels, Great Quality!
How do I Know? have been using the Single Black Pan Pastels with my portrait drawings and I tell you it is of great quality. The blending is remarkable and smooth. It lasts very long if untouched after drawing or painting is done. So functionality is excellent! Hence, the reason for me buying the other colors. Quality is top notch! Try it!

High Quality Pan Pastel
Iâve tried to use pastels in the past, but found them messy and the chalk breaks easily, so when I found pan pastels, I was excited to try them. The colors are rich and vibrant. They blend easily. You can apply them using special tools, regular brushes, or even your fingers. Thereâs much less mess than with chalk pastels. Itâs actually my new favorite medium. PanPastel also has video tutorials to help you figure out how to create certain effects, which I appreciated.

I am loving panoastels
I am loving the pan pastels, they are so versatile, you can use it like any other paint they mix really good not like the pastel sticks. They are not cheap, if you buy them in 20 sets they cost 115-120 if you buy 10 55-68. But I think that at the end cost talking will be worth it too, they are highly pigmented so great coverage and a little product goes a long way, they create very little dust compared with sticks or pencils. The tools allows you to easily paint small details, for tiny things you can use pastel pencils, they blend really good and are compatible. I am enjoying a lot practicing with it and learning to use it

Nice Set of Colors but Arrived with Crumbled Burnt Sienna
I was so excited to receive this 20 color set of Pan Pastels, but unfortunately when I opened the package I found the Burnt Sienna pan pastel was all crumbled. A bit disappointing given the price of this set at nearly $100. Rather than returning the set I would prefer a replacement of the Burnt Sienna if possible.

Stunning colors and play nicely with watercolors…
Having never used Pan Pastels before, I decided to give them a try. My chosen medium has always been watercolors or any water soluble medium. Let me tell you; I was more than pleasantly surprised. It does take some getting used to as this is a medium that you must push around the paper. What also makes the Pan Pastels so unique is they come in round pans and not in stick form. There are separate tools that one uses with these pastels. However, you can incorporate your existing sticks when working with them. For me, blending is a little tricky, but with practice, I will conquer this. Additionally, the beauty of these Pan Pastels is their depth of color. They come in tints, pure colors, shades and extra dark. The colors are very rich and saturated and work beautifully together. My plans for these Pan Pastels is to incorporate them into my watercolor paintings as well as use them with my stencils. I have found that they are beautiful for layering and play nicely with my other mediums. These pastels were a fantastic purchase, and I look forward to learning more about how to use them. I highly recommend!
