Very high end product
I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the PETZL. Three brightness levels are fantastic. Even the lowest level offers enough light to get thing done in dark conditions. The option for either the rechargeable cell, or batteries is also very nice.

Good head light
The headband is adjustable, secure, does not slip. The light can be adjusted up or down to the chosen angle. The low-medium-high beams adjust easily. Low will last the longest before recharging, high the shortest but still has acceptable duration. The beam is wide enough to illuminate a good length and depth of any pathway.Glad I purchased this. It is handy for walking from the garage to house at night, frees up my hands to carry bags or find keys.

Great Lamp before, but somehow improved in every way!
I had the older model for years and has been my go-to for handsfree illumination at home, work, and play!Somehow this newer version is improved in every way:1. Battery door 10x better – now weather âresistantâ – little to no ingress protection on the old version..2. Battery level indicator – new and helpful to know when youâre getting low.3. Glow in the dark portion added – perfect for âseeingâ without blinding people at night..4. Headband greatly improved w dual adjustments – wear over a hat, bumpcap, hardhat, etc no problem. Old version was a single adjuster..5. Actik Core battery packs provide all the light needed without separate batteries – same great performance.Highly recommend this lamp and getting a spare battery core.Enjoy!

Works fine but pricey
The PETZL Actik Core is a front lamp that has garnered attention for its innovative design and practicality. As someone who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and camping, I was excited to test this rechargeable lamp. Overall, while it offers solid performance and impressive features, I can’t help but feel slightly underwhelmed by its price point.Pros:Rechargeable Convenience: One of the Actik Core’s standout features is its rechargeable battery. The convenience of not having to stock up on disposable batteries is huge, especially for those who frequently venture outdoors. The battery life is commendable, providing ample illumination for most adventures, whether you’re navigating a trail at night or setting up camp after the sun goes down.Brightness and Versatility: With a maximum output of 600 lumens, the lamp delivers powerful brightness, making it suitable for a wide range of activities. Whether you are hiking, cycling, or just need a reliable source of light around the campsite, this front lamp has you covered. Additionally, the ability to adjust the beam between flood and spot modes allows for versatility, catering to different situations.Comfortable Fit: The design of the Actik Core is ergonomic, with a lightweight construction that makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The adjustable strap is also a plus, ensuring a secure fit during vigorous activities.Durability: Built to withstand the rigors of outdoor use, the lamp is water-resistant (IPX4 rated) and designed to endure a variety of weather conditions. This durability adds to my confidence when using it in unpredictable environments.Cons:Price Point: While the Actik Core excels in many areas, I do find it on the pricier side compared to other front lamps in the market. The cost is justified to an extent due to its features and performance, but consumers on a tight budget may find it hard to rationalize the investment.Limited Accessories: Although the lamp is exceptional in its core functionality, it lacks some accessory options that could enhance its versatility. For example, a more robust mounting system for bikes or a more comprehensive carrying case would be welcome additions.Battery Life Under High Output: While the battery life is decent, running it at the maximum brightness setting can drain it quicker than expected. If you plan on using it for extended nighttime activities, you’ll need to manage your power settings accordingly. Conclusion: In summary, the PETZL Actik Core Rechargeable Front Lamp is a reliable companion for outdoor enthusiasts who need a dependable light source. Its convenience, brightness, and comfort make it a strong choice when you’re navigating the great outdoors. However, its higher price tag may deter some potential buyers, especially those who may not require all of its features. If you’re willing to invest in quality and performance, the Actik Core could be a worthy addition to your gear collection; just be prepared to spend a little more than you might for similar products. Overall, it’s a good lampâjust not for everyone’s budget.

Running headlamp
I live on back country roads. The battery life is great and love that it is rechargeable. I run in the rain and is waterproof , great light and visibility to others. I have tried other styles and brands. This is the best quality one I have used. Great value for my money.

great headlamp
You can’t go wrong with Petzl headlamps. I’ve had the same old Princeton Tec headlamp since 2011 and it was time for an upgrade. This one is brighter on its lowest setting than my old one was on it’s brightest. Battery life is good, I’ve been using the rechargeable battery pack and running it on max brightness on my morning hikes and it’ll go a few days before it’s noticeably dim. There’s a lot of hullabaloo around the battery cover, I have had zero issues with it. In fact it’s easier to remove than my old headlamp’s battery cover. It is a little disappointing that the battery pack has to come out to charge but, I don’t have to charge it every time I use it so it’s really a non issue. It’s also fairly easy to switch modes. Again there seems to be some contention about the ease or lack of, trying to switch from white to red. Read the instructions, it really is that easy.

Best headlamp I’ve ever had
I go jogging early in the morning and need a light that is bright enough that I can see the sidewalk a few feet in front of me. You wouldn’t think that would be difficult to find, but I purchased two other headlamps first that were not bright enough. This headlamp is a game-changer! It’s bright enough to see well ahead, and I can see both my surroundings and what’s in front of me on the ground. LOVE IT!

Great hands-free headlamp
Quality adjustable head band, USB rechargeable, adjustable vertical tilt, several light intensities to choose by just pressing the button, glows in the dark for a good while after use for ease in finding at night. Well done!

Instructions are not very good for a first time user. Do an internet search on you tube.If installing the AAA batteries, the center battery has to be installed in reverse polarity tocomplete the proper sequence.3 new AAA battery voltage at 1.50 volts x 3 =4.50 volt total. Fully recharged battery was 4.17volt. I never tested to see which battery system would last the longest on this light systembefore the light shuts down.Changing to the red light and strobe is a bit tricky which the video helped. With full battery power, the lighting system is very good.Charging starts at red then goes to green when fully charged as shown on the battery. Thelight has color indicators showing the different voltages. Example: green is fully chargedwhile orange is partially charged. The light came well packaged with a partially charged battery. It could take up to 3 hours tofully charge the battery.Replacement rechargeable batteries are available on Amazon. If using hydro to recharge the battery, one requires the adapter to connect to the USB cable.

I bought to keep my wife from constantly borrowing my Petzl swift on hikes and camps. Both of similar size, price, and use, but many differences. Light unit can be rotated -80 to + 80 degs up or down as needed. The Actik works great, but that doesnât mean there arenât improvements to be desired. The head band works ok, but could incorporate a more rubbery non-slip material. Some have said the headband buckles broke, mine havenât but i agree they could be bit thicker for combating brittleness in sub zero weather. I find opening the battery lid generally warrants use of my swiss army flat head, itâs barely finger friendly. But otherwise we love the light.

Security seal on the outside of the Petzl box looks like it was previously removed and relocated. Upon opening the box it looks like two more seals on the inside have also been removed and reapplied. Label on the bottom of the box indicates New but at this point I’m unsure that it is not. Product does seem to work.
