I bought these landing nets for a different purpose then what it was made for.My reason for buying these were because I needed to minimize what went into my fishing backpack for surf fishing. Iâm getting older, and unfortunately through the hard work throughout my work life, my body isnât what it was because of injuries and just plain old – getting the dad bod..I have shovels, pitchforks, sand rakes and so on. Tried it all. So I bought these because they fold up and they were $12.99 (when I bought them). I needed a way to scoop the sand crabs out without having to lug around anything heavy and be able to move freely and comfortably, up and down the beach.Well if youâre needing the same thing, here you are!It does not feel cheap and flimsy! Itâs actually quite sturdy and solid. The mesh net is rubber/plastic coated. Itâs super lightweight and it folds down to nothing! You get two of these for a steal!! Great product, great price! Iâm sure itâll scoop and hold the fish you catch (letâs not be ridiculous and assume itâll withstand the weight of Godzilla) but Iâm sure itâll do great at what it was made for – the undertow was strong the day of the video, and it held up, on multiple occasions!

Looks and works exactly as intended.
Haven’t had to use it yet, but did open it up, extend and retract the handle, locked up fine and works as I expected it to. Handle sturdiness appears to be fine, especially retracted, where the internal tube is inside the outer shaft. I plan to use this primarily for catching frogs and crawfish for bait and I think it will work great, even extended out to full length. The locking collar works fine to adjust shaft length, but the locking nut works CCW to tighten. I see no reason why it wouldn’t be equally effective for smaller fish such as trout or smallmouth bass. I would recommend rotating it 90 degrees before lifting heavier fish out of the water to place the stress across the hoop and less on the handle, but that’s true of most landing nets. It does fold up nicely for storage, and has the belt clip on it if desired. The junction where the handle shaft meets the net hoop, including the locking clips, are plastic. I would be inclined to store the net out of direct sunshine when not in use, to keep the plastic from getting brittle from sun bleaching. Otherwise, all good and a nice price point. Don’t know if they stated as such, but it is made in China.

Good bet
Net is compact and is good size for kayak. If you are using single hook set-ups it is great. I having been throwing kore crank baits and of course the rebel hooks get all wrapped up takes time to get them undone. Just know this before buying.

Good to start, but won’t last
I bought this as a kayak fishing net due to its small size and fold-ability. Sadly, the quality is not the best so it’s already becoming tough to fold up. Overall it’s not terrible, but I upgraded to something a bit more sturdy and reliable after about 10 trips.
