I’ll always recommend an ugly stick. Great flexibility. Quality is amazing. Value for the money is always there. Never had one break they are a toss in the pack basket and go kind of rod.

This combo is great, especially if you are just getting into ice fishing. It does not cost a fortune, and it does the job!

Just what you want
My first few years of ice fishing, I either used $10-15 ice combos or homemade jigging rods. Neither offered the sensitivity and action a true dedicated ice rod offers. I am a simple guy and use ugly sticks for other types of fishing. I find them to be an amazing combo of value, durability, and quality. This combo continues that trend. The reel is good for the money. The rod has a soft tip with a good lower backbone. The construction has proven to be as durable as my other ugly sticks. For the price point, I don’t think anything can beat it for ice fishing.

This is a good setup, compared to some of the cheaper options out there. Nice drag control and smooth reel operation.There are two versions of this combo, consider the shorter rod for use in smaller ice fishing tents.

Lost my last ugly stick down the hole ice fishing. Very rugged roads and the reel works well in the winter. It is sensitive to bites and easy to bring in larger fish on a 4 lb line. Love it.
