Superior Ski Brake Retainer Strap
These replace the rubber bands that came with my Sport Tube, a molded plastic, telescoping tube that protects skis in the cargo bay of a plane. I don’t know why these have not yet been reviewed – the straps are far superior to rubber bands which loose their elasticity and Velcro straps which (unless industrial grade) may not hold well in high shear force. The BOXOB straps are made from 1″ wide braided nylon strap that has been double-stitched at the loop and opposite end. A heavy-duty steel, locking buckle with a molded nylon loop makes the straps very easy to adjust, but the straps fit my 108mm wide (underfoot) skis with Tyrolia bindings perfectly right out of the bag. Sturdy, well made, and easy to use. So good that I bought a second package for the friend I’m traveling with on my upcoming ski trip to Washington.
