I went to Cambodia for 2 weeks, and this patch survived
I recently went to Cambodia and Taiwan for 2 weeks, and I wore my CGM (Libre 2) I was super concerned for infection etc, but I had significant success at home, so I thought at worst I can remove it.This patch did not let me down. I went into a 90% Humidity with Rain @ 92F for 2 weeks, mixed with pools, showers, and bumping into things. The patch never came off, ripped, or even frayed like the original one tends to. Also since the center is not sticky it breathes better so the CGM is more accurate.I literally was so impressed at how well it held up from swimming in a pool for 2 hours. I was babying it in their but it was definitely wet or submerged for over 2 hours, and both the sensor and patch were fine.Skin Grip hit it out of the park with this one, and I am definitely a repeat customer now.

Not for sensitive skin, but work great
These work. They work fantastic. I love that the middle where the sensor goes isn’t sticky. I’d been having trouble with the normal ones losing adhesion in the first few days, but the one I used stayed on for over a week and a half, and likely would have stayed on the full two weeks. However, my skin is sensitive, and the last couple days I had it on, it started itching. I pulled it off yesterday to change my sensor and was left with a ring of red, swollen skin around the edge of where the cover had been. The inside was also irritated to a lesser extent. This could be partially attributed to user error–I may have been a little too forceful when removing it. But the ring is all the way around, including where I definitely pulled gently. So these are great, but not if you are sensitive to strong adhesives. (Picture is from the day after I removed it.)

For the extra protection
I’ve sworn the glue in my Libre is water-soluble. Allegedly, the 3 has stickier glue. But it is so much smaller, I worry I won’t feel when it gets caught on something. So I decided to try these when I started on the Libre 3 today.Application was simple, the back is split into 3 sections. I pulled the middle off stuck it down and then did the edges. The patch went on perfect and smooth. For a few hours it felt kind of stiff, a little like a new bandage of similar size. But it has become flexible, and I don’t notice it now. It has smoothed out the lip, no more fear of catching the edge of the Libre on something.I’m hopeful that it will also help with keeping the Libre adhered to my arm. I’ll report back if there are any issues with that. Like does this keep moisture trapped and not let the Libre dry out? Does the bandage dry out quickly after showers, or do you get wet spots on your shirt. For now I recommend these!

wrong color and wrong texture. very thin almost paperlike product sent instead of “real skin grip”
I work for Medtronic Diabetes and i order these for patients for sensor use. Typically the dressing is good quality and the product is amazing. Most of my patients order on their own after i share a few with them. I ordered black and received a cream color. The product was not “fabric like” like the skin grip usually is. It was almost paperlike and thin. What is going on with this? Shipment was also rescheduled and late. I am concerned.

Skin Grip is a favorite product
I love Skin Grip products. I’ve purchased Skin Grip patches for another CGM and for an insulin pump. I ordered the black Libre patches as I prefer other colors rather than patches that resemble bandages. It makes the experience of using a CGM a little more unique. I love that they offer multiple color and style options for the patches. It gives the user a chance to experiment with different styles that fit their personal needs. These patches are made in the USA, super easy to apply, and they generally last for several days. You can use an alcohol wipe to help remove any leftover adhesive on the skin when removing the patch.

Poor quality control
Out of the ten patches, four of them had damaged edges, the other four had adhesive stuck to the top (likely from rubbing against one another’s edges where the adhesive kind of sticks through). Only two were undamaged and did not have any adhesive on the top. I can still use them all though. The adhesion the skin is good, and the cotton center is of good quality, none of them were damaged fortunately. The application is pretty simple as well – there are three sections where you can remove the backing so you can ensure you have the patch aligned properly before you remove it. It was sweat and moisture resistant. I did expect it to be a bit thicker but it was extremely thin and flexed well.
