So far, it’s great.
I know there were some negative reviews about this item, but mine seems to work great. It’s possible that earlier versions of this camera and software were lacking. When dealing with high-tech items, they become obsolete at a fast pace, and upgrades can be far ahead of previous units in improvement and ability. I’ve had mine out on my home range three times now, and I can verify it works great to 1/2 mile, getting a full signal. I’ve tried the software on both a Motorola moto z4 running Android v10, and a HP chromebook running the latest version of Chrome. If I encounter any problems, I’ll upgrade my review. The software has many great features, and I haven’t tried them all yet. The software runs in landscape mode, so it looks great running full screen on the HP Chromebook. And, it is much better and easier to use on the Chromebook than it is on the phone. The software allows you to place the camera off-center from the target out of the line of fire, and then let you skew the image so it appears to be sitting right in front of the target. You can also place the camera much farther back than the recommended 15 feet, and zoom in on it. I got a good clear image from as far back as 36 feet. The software also has a “live view” mode that lets you view the raw camera image that appears to update every 1/2 second. I found myself using this feature a lot. For low lite/night shooting, the camera has LEDs that can be set to come on automatically in low light. One of the neatest features it has is the ability to overlay the target with a grid pattern of 1/4, 1/2, 1 MOA or 1/10 MRAD squares that are properly sized for the distance you are shooting. It can also let you “mark” your shots on the target, and save your shooting session. You can also recall saved target images with marks for later review. As I said, this package has a lot of bells and whistles that I haven’t played with very much yet, but I will adjust my review if I have any problems. So far, I’m pretty impressed.Edit 04/17/2024I tried “hiding” the camera behind a 34″ square steel plate at 1/2 mile to protect it from stray bullets. It was still able to get plenty of signal back to the unit at the shooting bench and worked flawlessly.

some mobile devices wont work with it
I havent used it at the range yet, but I tried it at home and some devices wont connect to it. My samsung s7 will connect to it, older samsung table will, samsung s24 wont connect to it nor will my laptop computer. my newer samsung tablet wont support the app for it at all. I wound up getting a apple ipad 10 to use it, I needed an excuse to upgrade my tablet anyway. Almost every youtube video of it being used is with a APPLE device. So far that is my take on it. Update…I used it today and it works great. I still wish that it would work with my s24.

This is a game changer for people that shoot all the time
This camera saves so much time at the range, once you get the target and camera setup your can shoot as many times as you want. As you can see in the pictures itâs super easy to sight in a rifle or pistol with this system. The software asks if your scope is Moa or Mils so it will calculate how many clicks you need to adjust your scope when zeroing a rifle. I would definitely buy this again.

Item Will Not Work Consistently. Avoid.
This is a revised review after 1 month of owning and using this. When it works, itâs pretty great. But it doesnât work consistently. Iâve only used this at 100 yards. Thankfully. I would be SO irritated trekking back and forth over 600 yards when it loses connection. My range is always empty this time of year. So I set up and shoot in the same spot every weekend. One day, this will work flawlessly. One day it will continually lose connection. Itâs terribly inconsistent. And I donât go to the range to walk back and forth rebooting it.Check out Longshot Cameras. They are shipping a new line of target cameras August 2024. The Ranger and Ranger+, 100 yards and up to 1,000 yards, respectively, for an impressive $149 (Ranger) or $299 (Ranger+) on pre-order (at least at the time of this review). Or just spend the extra money if you can and if you want a camera now, and get their LR3.Iâm switching to them. Better reputation and active customer service.

Saves Time and Money
This is a GREAT Product. I should have bought it years ago but I didn’t know about it’s existence. It saves time by eliminating all that time going to the target and back again because my spotting scope can’t see a 22 cal. hole at 440 yards. So shooting my AR out to 500 yards is possible now. My 10.2 in. iPad showed up today so that will give me a far better picture of the target than using my iPhone.Saves money as I only need one target because it keeps track of all shots and shows you the new one. It also does Recording. You can record your session. KOOL or WHAT?

This Range Camera is FANTASTIC!
I purchased the 1mile distance capable Range Camera. This made it so much more easy to see exactly what I needed to make adjustments. We placed it at 1,000 yards for it’s first time use. The next time it will be at 1,500 Yards… and then hopefully we will get to the full 1,760 Yard mark (1 Mile). That may take some time… LOL, but at least we shall be able to see closely (through my 11″ Samsung Pad via the installed app) where we are hitting on the 30″ target. The application for this allows one to fully see the target (Corner to corner), no matter what angle the camera sits. I was able to record video through the application showing up close the shots hitting the target down range. This is another great tool to utilize in perfecting ones long range capability. Also, it shows data of the different shots taken! It is fantastic. That stated, never give up your spotting scope for the field. Use both. There is no replacement for Glass in my opinion. Plus the Camera cannot always be used for what you need. It is a great tool however,… to help make adjustments with, and for competition! I love it!
