I haven’t tried this yet…
I don’t have an air fryer or toaster oven to try this out with, so my husband has volunteered to take a torch to it to see how it does. (Hold my beer!) The reason I got them is for an insert into a quilted type casserole hotpad for the dining table. They’re plenty big that I could cut them in half and make more, if my concept works. If it doesn’t, they’ll still come in handy for my friends that have those hot appliances. They include 4 adhesive hooks to hang these from, but I think I’d prefer to roll up for storage when not in use. The hooks can be used for other items if desired.

Exactly what I needed.
These heat resistant mats are exactly what I needed. I use them to protect my counter tops in the kitchen when using small appliances like the air fryer, mixer, etc. I also use one under my pizza oven as well.They are excellent quality mats. They are heat resistant and have an anti-slip coating. Do yourself a favor and protect your countertops.These are also easy to clean if you make a mess on them. When you don’t need them, they can be rolled up and stored out of the way too.

Ich benutze die Matte im Garten während der Grillsaison, um den Holztisch vor der Wärme des Elektrogrills zu schützten. Die Matte schützt auch vor Fettspritzer. Wenn eine Matte flächenmäÃig nicht reicht, dann können zwei nebeneinander gelegt werden.In der Küche im Haus nutze ich die Matte hauptsächlich, wenn ich für eine Feier vielen Dinge vorzubereiten habe, z. B. als Abstellfläche für heiÃe Töpfe oder unter einer zusätzlichen Kochplatte auf der Arbeitsplatte.Bei Nicht-Benutzung lege ich die Matten gefaltet in eine Schublade. Ein Platz zum Aufhängen steht leider nicht zur Verfügung, kann aber in einem separaten Vorrats-/Arbeitsraum durchaus sehr praktisch sein.

Die Matten mögen einige Zeit feuerfest sein, das werde ich nicht testen. Die Hitze kommt aber schnell durch diese dünnen Matten durch. Daher ist der Nutzen doch insgesamt eher fraglich. Die beigefügten Haken zum Aufhängen sind sehr billig und super hässlich,also eher für die Tonne geeignet.

Update: I have been using this as per the title “hob protector” and since going from a gas to a ceramic hob this product when placed on the oven steams. It is also not oil proof and collects oil which is difficult to removeSo this is a good mat and it’s easy to clean off and wipe. It stops my cat from walking on the top of the hob. However, the heat still comes through and if you put your hand on the top of the mat you can feel the heat and it does start to hurt after a while. So it doesn’t stop burning but does prevent it slightly.
