The CDT Grand’s 60-ounce capacity makes it perfect for small offices, cafés, and home entertaining. We use a flat-bottom brew basket to achieve this volume, and we recommend always brewing the full amount to achieve the best results. Our double-walled, stainless steel thermal carafe will keep coffee hot for up to an hour – or even longer with the included Travel Lid.
Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted

Yes. Yes. Yes. Level 10 Coffee Maker
We bought the Technivorm Moccamaster 39340 CDT Grand about 3 months ago, and it is fantastic.First let me say that we did have a small problem with coffee slightly dripping down the carafe while brewing but, Technivorm replaced the carafe immediately without question. Problem solved, and now I know that they have first rate customer service too!The coffee that this machine makes is unbelievably good. So good that I had to force myself to stop drinking it constantly all day. It makes the best coffee ever made in my house by far. I buy good quality whole beans and grind them before brewing, my wife buys the cheapest coffee that she can find and mixes regular and decaf for a pot in the morning and I can say for sure that even the cheap coffee tastes good. Far better than our previous Bunn made. The whole bean coffee that I make is out of this world in my opinion. So I can confirm, at least in my opinion, that the brewing theory about water temp and dripping the water all over the grounds to bloom them to get a better taste is real. I’ve pulled the top up from the basket while brewing and you can see the grind blooming as the water is showered all over them. From an aesthetic perspective I will say that if you are in the U.S. like I am, the design of it is different from what we are used to. We are typically used to makers bolted together in one box shape. The Moccamasters look more like an experimental chemistry set. But once again I think the design has value. Most of the parts can be removed by hand: The bottom the carafe sits on, the brew basket, the wand that the coffee travels though to drip into the basket, etc. So If anything breaks you can easily replace them by hand without tools. I’ve looked on their website and those parts are available at reasonable prices. And it is sturdier than it looks. Finally, it is fun to watch. Water bubbles up a clear tube inside the water housing, travels across the inside of the wand and drips visibly into the top of the basket which showers the grounds. And the open design makes the house smell great while brewing. In summary:- Makes the best coffee that I’ve ever made at home, easily as good as or better than a coffee shop.- Easy to use. One button and simple to load and remove the basket.- Carafe keeps the coffee warm for hours (about the same as the Bunn carafe that we had before.- Interesting design that draws attention and makes everyone in your house want to have a cup.Hope this was helpful.

Mornings Saved! Easy maintenance and delicious coffee.
The beauty of this machine isn’t on the outside (it looks pretty funny in my opinion). It’s beautiful because it is so simple in design and efficient in operation. No integrated grinder, no WiFi, no automatic brew timer for the mornings. This machine is for the coffee lover who doesn’t mind a bit of work to get the perfect cup.So, does this millennial tech nerd think this coffee maker is worth your money? In short, yes. I spend several years using the Breville, Bonavita, and Zojirushi coffee makers, and they all ended up falling short. Breville’s maker with the integrated grinder didn’t brew consistently hot and strong coffee (I tried the YouBrew and Grind Control, all with those issues). The Bonavita started falling apart within a year of occasional use. The Zojirushi brewed the coffee too hot, leaving a bitter flavor. My brew routine with this machine has resulted in great tasting coffee every time:1) Using my Zojirushi 5L hot water dispenser, pre-heat stainless steel carafe with 208 F water2) Grind 50g coffee in my Vario, medium grind3) Pour grinds into Bunn 12 cup filter in filter basket4) Drain carafe of water used for pre-heating, screw brewing cap onto carafe and place under basket5) Brew Coffee6) Replace brewing cap with keep warm cap (not sure what to call this)7) Empty brew basket (if you don’t do this, water will collect on the lid from steam during/after the brewing process and it tends to run off quickly into a little mess.8) Empty and rinse carafe after enjoyingCoffee has been great, and has successfully replaced my old morning routine of an Americano pulled courtesy of my Rancilio Silvia!

It makes great coffee
I am a retired lawyer. I’ve drunk a lot of coffee for years.I received this machine a few days ago and have brewed 4 pots so far. The coffee has been excellent. However, coffee flavor varies dramatically depending on what coffee is used, how much coffee is used per pot, and the coarseness of the grind. So, I expect I’ll be able to brew even better tasting coffee with a little experimentation, but I was pleased with even the first efforts. The Technivorm basket filters are expensive, but a little research revealed that they are the same size as the standard Bunn 12-15 cup commercial coffee maker filters (NOT the Bunn 8-12 cup filters for home brewers). I was able to buy a box of 1000 Bunn filters on Amazon for about $15, which is about the same cost as 100 Technivorm brand filters. I used the first Bunn filter today. The coffee doesn’t taste any different than it did using one of the 3 Technivorm filters included with the machine.A couple of minor items: The plastic plate on which the carafe sits when brewing doesn’t attach to the machine. It fits in a slot in the machine but comes off when I lift the machine (without the carafe). Not a big deal–just a minor inconvenience. Also, the bracket which supports the brewing basket seems a little flimsy. It will easily support the basket, but looks like it could break easily if the machine were bumped against something. It is replaceable–it’s only connected to the machine by 2 screws, but a replacement costs about $30. I will try hard to avoid breaking it.Putting aside the minor complaints, I doubt that there is a 12 cup coffee maker made that brews better coffee than this one.

I have been percolating my coffee for years as I found home drip coffee makers too weak. My wife talked me into a drip coffee maker so I researched and found that if I was willing to spend $500.00 the Technivorm Moccamaster Grand was one of the consistently top rated coffee makers on the planet. I will not repeat the Info the Manufacturer gives but will tell you my experience. First thing, order the large coffee filters as it comes with 3 only. The unit arrived and I ran water through a cycle as per instructions. I like strong coffee but the instructions call for 10 scoops for a full pot.(1 scoop 2 tablespoons) I found that too strong. I find 8.5 scoops perfect for a full pot. The coffee maker Is well made and the engineering is elegant with no bells and whistles just an on/off button. The unit brews coffee quite fast. The coffee is hot which I like and the flavour was amazing. There is absolutely no bitterness what so ever. I started buying different brands of beans as I can really taste the difference in all the brands now. The thing I like about this coffee maker is that if I make a small pot the coffee, it still comes out the same as a full pot. I thought it might be tricky to making pots of different sizes but It is simple and the proportions of coffee to water stay relatively the same. This is the best coffee I have tasted at anyones home ever! I highly recommend..

I drink a lot of coffee, a lot…and this thing makes a perfect pot in a short amount of time. You can brew a very fine bean and not feel like you’re doing the bean a disservice by making a volume of it. Really easy, to use, really easy to clean and the speed of which it brews such a magic cup is incredible

Everyone compliments on our new office coffee maker. We used to have a 20,000$ high maintenance cappuccino/espresso machine that was really too much where all we really needed was a simple coffee maker. Our new Technivorm CDT makes a great consistent coffee at a fraction of the price of pods or automatic machines plus less waste!
