Long ago in Dover, New Hampshire, two upstart comic artists passed the time making each other laugh. Kevin Eastman sketched an unlikely combination of “Ninja” and “Turtle.” Peter Laird answered back with his own version. Before long, a new sketch emerged of all 4 teenage brothers, ready for action. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Any collector would love to have these. It’s so cool to see the original animations brought to life in full color!Good price was an added bonus [they were more expensive in stores where i saw them].

Excelentes figuras
Excelentes figuras del 40 aniversario de las TMNT, el material y el esculpido como en los primeros cómics de mirage son geniales, aunque con poca posabilidad

Solid figures, but they can’t hold their weapons properly.
These are pretty good looking figures (really capture the feel of the original sketch and have personality). Limbs are articulate and the heads can be moved.I’m also pleased with their accessories (feels more generous than what you’d find with your regular toy), including swords that can fit in holsters, and the crate and board Michelangelo can stand on is a nice touch. Unfortunately, the weapons don’t seem to really fit in the turtles’ hands like you see on the box art. Also, the swords go down the sheaths only half-way through. However, said sheaths attach to the turtles really well, and Mikey’s nunchucks attach firmly to his arm bands. The ground stands for the turtles are a nice touch. They have each turtle’s name on the bottom, so you can’t forget which one attaches to which. Each toy comes with the exact same cardboard replica of the turtles’ original sketch with a stand. I guess it’s a nice touch if you’re just buying one turtle, but it seems redundant if you have more than one figure. It was a fun idea to make the stands look like broken canisters of ooze. The comic that comes with a decent bonus. It contains a couple more popular stories from the original TMNT comics run.I think collectors will prefer this over kids. They will probably be interested in less sketchy/indie comics-looking turtles. Collectors will be impressed with the look and detail on these.

I love being a TURTLE!!!
I grew up in the 80s and 90s watching the original TMNT movies and cartoon show. Then the 2000s show and eventually getting into the comic books. The Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird original comic book series and glorious black and white is by far one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. The stories are pure amazing Kung Fu epics and just seeing the proto turtles build their way up into what we know them today is something very special. The artwork is one of those ones that is unlike other things that you will ever read. With a very distinctive style that I still love seeing every time I open one of those books. If you have yet to read the old school Turtles books, you need to go out of your way and do yourself a favor and grab the whole set of them. Especially if you get the black and white versions and not the recolored ones. Not that there’s anything wrong with those but you want to have the original experience I think. That’s what makes these figures so special right here is because they’re the original sketch drawings of the Turtles. They look angry and badass like the classic Jack Kirby inspired drawings they are. With all that good blockiness, attitude, and grit going on here. Each turtle comes with all their own weapons and some stage settings that can be all combined together for an action set. Now technically the turtles are done in their color scheme that comes from the show later on and not the original all red look for their masks. But that’s one feature that just makes it easier to identify who’s who beyond just their weapons and personality. This set also comes with the Donatello one shot many issue from IDW. Which is another great run and the Turtles comic book arc. The box that these come in is also very special too cause it’s got the number label of which version it is and all the extra details there too. Plus, it works as a great place to store these figures if you want to keep them in good quality when not on display. This is definitely for the hardcore, old school Turtles fans from way back in the day but that’s not saying that you can’t enjoy this collection too for the modern kids if you got everything else Turtles going on. But if you’re a fan of the original books, you will especially dig this set of Turtle figures. I know it’s a must-have in my collection.
