Up another size
Just runs small I think. I’ve gotten bigger over the last couple years & now sit at 38″ pants across most brands. Your to buy one size up & the first hole should be the fit without bunching up the pants or allowing any sag. When the 40″ was way too small I looked for the 42″, but out of stock. I started looking at other belts, but I need one with this type of style. I found a few, but not as dressy. I eventually found myself back at this belt and trying the 44″. As it turns out it’s a perfect fit. Keep that all in mind when choosing size.As for the belt it’s built well. The buckle is nice enough. It’s not the thickest leather, but good enough. Has a shine to it already. I’ll double check before putting a leather protector on.My 38″ pants are slightly loose. Back tends to fall down. TH belt lands on the first hole, still a little tight lol, for a perfect hold. It looks good and I’m not uncomfortable. I won’t be wearing this with casual outfits. Rather keep it for when I’m better dressed. My old belt will take care of my jeans for now

“Hard-as-a-rock” leather
This belt is a bit of a disappointment. If I handled this belt with my eyes closed, I’d never figure out that it was made of leather. It’s “hard as a rock”.The material is so hard and stiff that it’s almost like trying to bend a piece of wood when you go to fasten the buckle. I’ll be looking for something better next time.The width might be a little narrower than you would expect. And this belt probably isn’t the best choice for using with jeans. All of my jeans would handle a belt at least 1 1/2 inches wide. I would recommend getting a wider, more flexible and thicker belt with some style or texture to it, for use with jeans. This belt is more like a cheap dress belt.

Great belt and shade of brown , this is my second one .. still have the 1st one but it was getting a little worn , I wear it 5 days a week to work for about 10 years now . Hilfiger never disappoints..

Had to exchange this belt to get a better size, still not right as compared to those purchased at a store, but wearable.. Quality is good from the real leather..
